batt problems termal all chorid

battery terminal problems can be handled with simple steps Firstly remove both terminals and clean posts with sand paper. clean inside terminals until shiny metal. Remove corrosive gunk with a mixture of sodium di carbonate(baking soda from the kitchen). It will fizz up and neutralise the battery acid on the terminals and on top of the battery Was clean --replace the terminals --- and use crc soft seal to further protect the terminals from a reoccurrence of the problem

Boiling water is the best way to clean the corrosion from terminals. Then use some sandpaper to to clean the battery terminal and the clamp.Put it back together and coat terminals with vaseline (petroleum jelly) this will stop further corrosion.

battery cable kroded car want start how can i get it to start

well for starters if the cable is corroded you will need to measure the cable and replace the cable, autozone has many options for you with cable replacements.

If in fact you battery terminals are corroded and they can easily be replaced on hondas i believe you just have to cut the cable right next to terminal and replace them with new ones this is also very simple and cheap (2.49 ) per terminal at autozone.

all you do to replace them is cut the old one off the new ones you will just bolt a metal plate over the wire

If its the battery post just go buy a battery cleaning brush cheap to and clean the post and the terminals and you will be ok. May i also suggest that you put felt washers and battery terminal grease to prevent re corrosion of the above items.

also clean the post terminals and it should start you just don't have a good electrical contact

Hey if it helps how about a 4 thumbs up thanks

i have a 2002 doge ram my positive terminal was really corroded .. was completely covered in battery corrosion and i need to take off and clean to regain power.. what might have caused this?

if the connection was corroded severely than its possible the ignition system couldn't get the power necessary to fire the electronic ignition system. Auto parts stores carry a anti-corrosion spray can that helps the terminals resist corrosion. just spray it on until the terminals are covered.
