  • Remove the passenger hush panel under the dash. Recline the seat way back and lay backwards and look way up under the dash. Use a flashlight to make this a bit easier too. Here is your diagram.

replace heater control cables under dash on 1988 camaro coupe

remove the radio heater trim panel remove the heater switch screws its easier to remove the passenger seat so you can lay down on your back and be comfortable its only 4 bolts dont forget the seatbelt on headrest lay on your back look up under dash and you will see the cable where it goes onto the lever it has a push clip on it to secure it on the lever carefully pull it off so you dont break it they are delicate the cable just pushes into the bracket change the cable the same goes for the heater switch side be careful dont pry too hard and break anything

i have a 2001 jimmy with a bad heATER CORE . THE BOOK SAYS ALL SCREWS TO REmove ventalation box r on the inside ??? any help

Yup,----this is no joke,

You going to have a headache over this job seriously----lol

This is not a joke----you have get under the dash on passenger side.

Well, easiest way is to actually do this is getting your head under the dashboard with a light(try not to burn your face off) by working upside down inside truck(head under dash---feet over the seat)

Removal of glovebox inner liner helps a little for space,

With a little sweat and small hands and fingers--hopefully avoiding a little cussing and swearing to get at them screws.

Probrably a 5 yr old can get the screws out easier than we can---lol

Remember at the factory they build the vehichles from the inside out----repairing them later is our problem----lol.
