Tip & How-To about Buick LeSabre

Buick Le Sabre No Start?

I have recently worked on a 1995 Buick Le Sabre that wouldn't start. First checked the fuel pump fuse and relay, they were both good. Then proceeded to change the faulty fuel pump. Proceeded to crank the car up and NO START....
Ended up finding that these buicks have problems with there wiring. So i found the power and ground wire to the fuel pump. Grounded it to the frame, and ran a hot wire up to the dash to a on/off switch that i then ran through the firewall and into a 20 amp fuse link. From there to a power source. Now to start the car, you have to turn the fuel pump on and off when you shut the car off.
But that beats chasing the entire wiring harness down to find a mysterious short.

where is the fuel relay on a 2005 buick le sabre

Only if you start it and let it run. Fuel pump fuse can also be pulled. I have to ask.. Why are you doing this? Most cars I do fuel release pressure from the shrader valve. Because they wont run. Catch most of the fuel with a rag.

Where is the fuel pump kill switch located in a 1998 Buick le sabre custom or the reset procedure

When you turn the key on the fuel pump should pump for about five to ten seconds. Do this a few times and it should start. Even with a full tank the pump will do this to pressurize the system. If the pump keeps running it's not picking up fuel. Have a friend listen at the gas cap with the cap removed for the pump to cycle. If it doesn't work there is a fitting on the fuel rail that looks like a valve on a tire. Take the cap off of it and use a small screwdriver to push the center in and see if there is pressure in the fuel rail. Have the key on and wear safety glasses. You should get a squirt of fuel out of it. If you have no pressure there the pump could be bad or the filter plugged. If there is pressure you have other problems. There is no shut off switch. Only fuses and a fuel pump relay. https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-samsung&source=android-browser&ei=_skGWP71NoOFmwGwvp-YCw&q=1998+buick+lesabre+fuel+pump+switch+location&oq=+1998+Buick+le+sabre+fuel+pump+switch+location&gs_l=mobile-gws-serp.1.0.30i10k1.20246.66235.0.71699.52.41.2.0.0.0.354.6560.4j26j8j2.40.0....0...1.1.64.mobile-gws-serp..17.35.5853...0i10k1j0i7i10i30k1j0i13k1j33i21k1j33i160k1.pAvwOOuWlKU#imgrc=99du9RTFFGCYhM%3A&scso=uid_WAbKSQAIdFcKJtQCGQCAqw_8:0

WHERE IS THE FUEL PUMP RESET SWITCH ON A 2002 BUICK LE SABRE

Only Ford products have an inertia switch.
If the pump does not work, you would need to check for voltage at the pump relay and the connector at the gas tank.

defroster / heater fan won't shut off /1995 Buick Le Sabre

Moe, I think you hi blower relay is bad. With this I mean the contacts in the relay are welded shut and you should replace the relay if the blower is on high all the time. Do this by removing the black plastic cover right behind the engine and removing the relay all the way to the drivers side of the relay bank. you will have to insert a small screwdriver under the relay and bend the little tang that holds the relay in place. then slide the relay out towards you and remove the green lock tab and unplug the relay from the wiring harness. if the blower finally stops then just insert a new relay in its place and reassemble in the reverse order. Good luck.
