Tip & How-To about Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Sunroof leaking a bit? or door seals doing same?

Hi if you find that sometimes you have found water in your car and there are no holes visible anywhere, this might be caused by the door seals and sunroof seals being dry and hard, to solve this, lightly rub some Vaseline around the seals,or petrollium jelly this will soften them a bit and give a good seal, don't overdo it though as it could get messy when the kids start getting Vaseline over the upholstery lol....by the way this is for all cars, it wouldn't let me pick GENERAL..

I have 2003 Ford Taurus sedan & have water leaking into the passenger floor board. What could be causing the problem & fix for it?

Does it leak when you drive in rain, or does it leak all the time?

If the former, can be seals and grommets anywhere in the engine compartment, bad door seal, bad windshield seal, sun roof leak, or holes in the floor pan under the carpet.

If the latter, it is the heating system from the heater core or the pipes to it.

Water keeps filling up under passenger seat in rear of car

My 2001 passat did the same thing. my leak was coming from the door panel. Open your door and use a water hose to simulate rain water running against your window. Water should run into door and drain out of several drain holes at the very bottom of your door. Check for water leaking from the bottom of your plastic door panel. The water runs down into the door and leaks through your inner door panel seal causing water to leak inside from the bottom of your door panel and run into the floorboard instead of draining out the water hole in the bottom of your door.

there is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? water leak ,drivers side, carpet is very, very wet especially in the rear.no sun roof & all door & window moldings are excellent. the car is parked. Also water in drivers rear quarter panel. Could it be the vent holes where the wipers are attached??

I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.
