8. If A Magnetic field is passed over a wire an electric current is generated in the wire.
9. When A switch is closed, a circuit is complete. When the switch is open, a circuit is broken and does not function.
10. A Fuse Protects a circuit against damage caused by a short circuit.

My check your air suspension warning light came on. I checked the book that came with the car and it said, it could be in the electic part of it. So my question to u is what can the electric part be?


It's mostly electronic , There is a control module ,sensor's at the corners ,wheels , an electric compressor to pump air to raise the vehicle .
You don't say what make , model an year vehicle but there all pretty much the same . This is for a Cadillac Deville

The ESC system with rear automatic level control (ALC) controls damping forces in the front struts and rear shock absorbers in response to various road and driving conditions. The rear ALC portion of the system maintains a proper vehicle trim height under various vehicle load conditions. For more information on the ALC, refer to Automatic Level Control Description and Operation in Automatic Level Control.
The ESC module receives the following inputs: wheel-to-body position, vehicle speed, and lift/dive. The ESC module evaluates these inputs and controls actuators in each of the dampers independently to provide varied levels of suspension control.

WILL TURN OVER BUT WILL NOT START


There are 2 possibilities: the spark plugs are not firing or the fuel system is clogged.

There are 2 ignition switch recalls for your vehicle:

Check your vehicle for the recall service stickers or call BMW and have your VIN number ready when you call and have them run your vehicle service history.

They should be able to tell you if the recall had been performed on your car.

ATI LOCK LIGHT ON BRAKES WORKING BUT DONT FEEL THE SAME AS NORMAL


Check Brake fluid level.

When the ABS light is on, the brakes should revert to standard braking.

The only time ABS should invoke is when the tires are slipping as sensed by the wheel speed sensors when the wheel locks up on any of the axles.

There are two basic types of anti-lock systems available for this vehicle; a Rear Wheel Anti-Lock (RWAL) brake system and 4 Wheel Anti-Lock (4WAL) brake system. The 4WAL system has two variations; a 3 sensor system and a 4 sensor system. The 2WD vehicles will be equipped with the 3 sensor system, but the AWD vehicles can be equipped with either. The systems are easily identified by looking at the rear wheels for a sensor harness. If there is a sensor harness and thus, rear wheel sensors, it is the 4 sensor system. If the vehicle is not equipped with a harness, it is the 3 sensor system. The 4 sensor system takes it speed references from each of the wheels. The 3 sensor system takes its speed references from each of the front wheels and the vehicle speed sensor located in the transmission (2WD) or the transfer case (AWD). The RWAL system components consist of the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), the isolation/dump valve and the Vehicle Speed Sensor Buffer (also known as the Digital Ratio Adapter). The ECU also receives signals from various brake switches. The 4WAL system components consist of the Electro-Hydraulic Control Unit (ECHU) valve (also known as the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve or BPMV), the wheel speed sensors, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on 3 sensor systems and the VSS Buffer. prev.gif next.gif

2000 lincoln continental 3 airbags deployed frnt dash steering wheel and driver seat replaced all three but air bag lights still flashes please advise


I think that a scanner can clear the DTC (diagnostic trouble code).
It seems to me that if a problem is detected that the light will stay on to alert the driver until cleared.
General Information The supplemental restraint system was designed to provide increased protection in case of an accident for those in the front seat of the car, when used along with the safety belt system. The system MUST be disarmed before any work is performed on or around the supplemental air bag system. The system is an electronically controlled, mechanically operated system. The system contains two basic subsystems: the driver's side air bag module assembly and the passenger side air bag assembly, and the electrical system that connects them. The system consists of:
  • The crash sensors
  • The safing sensor
  • The air bag module(s)
  • The diagnostic monitor
  • The back-up power supply
  • The instrument cluster indicator
  • The sliding contacts (clock spring assembly)
The system is operates as follows: The system remains out of sight until activated in an accident that is determined to be the equivalent of hitting a parked car of the same size and weight at 28 mph (40 km/h) with the vehicle receiving severe front end damage. This determination is made by crash and safing sensors mounted on the vehicle which when a sufficient impact occurs, close their contacts completing the electrical circuit and inflating the air bags. When not activated the system is monitored by the air bag diagnostic monitor and system readiness is indicated by the lamp located on the instrument cluster. Any fault detected by the diagnostic monitor will illuminate the lamp and store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). Fig. 1: Air bag system component locations — 1990–91 vehicles 84176001.gif
