Tip & How-To about Ford Taurus

Passing missouri emisson test

Never go to station, with a check engine light on,always have your vechicle scaned at a shop, first to make sure, your OBD 2 SYSTEM,sysems are ready,example,o2 sensors, catylst system, ect.you may even have a blown fuse, that will prevent the vechile from comunicating with the emmions machine!!!!,FORDS AND GM PEOPLE,MAKE SURE WHEN YOU DRIVE THE VECHILE,AFTER THE TEST WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS.

clicking noise in the engine. have been told it is the cam sensors. Is this a serious problem that needs immediate attention?

If it is cam sensors you should have a engine light on ""CHECK ENG"" should be on if so have you scaned it with OBD 2 scan tool to retreve this fault you say cam sensors?

The 'check engine' light is always on. how do i turn it off?

If you don't have a OBD 2 scan tool take it in and have it scaned and the switch or switches are causeing this replaced and then have it reset at that time!.However you can reset the light by disconeting the battery for a couple of minutes but soon as you start back up it will *come on again* hope this helps,John
