Hi , the tip is; always keep the open end of the can at the top, then it will run smoothly out of the can instead of the old "Gluk- Gluk sound and lots of spillage.

how do i fix overheating and where is the thermostat situated?

Thermostat usually located at end of hose going to the top of radiator and going to top of motor.

And until you fix it you can always run the heater full blast with windows wide open and do not drive fast to keep heat buildup to minimum.

i have n isuzu rodeo 94 engine it has 177 k miles i was wondering how much farther it will go before it goes out

an engine could run for 250k to 300k if you keep the oil and coolant changed regularly a rule of thumb is new fluids in an engine is always better than an old fluid. keeping spark plugs and fuel filter change and it helps keep carbon out of the top end.
