Changing oil every 3000 miles?

I have heard a lot of chatter about changing your oil every 3000 miles now to clarify if your vehicle was made before 2000 or you drive on dusty roads or up hills all the time most manufacturers don't recommend you change your out till 7,500 miles buy doing this it will save you a lot of time an $$$$ in the long run

How many miles or time period between oil change is recommended for Acura 2006 MDX? Is synthetic oil recommended or required?

Depends on driving style. Dusty roads? Lot of stop and go? Lot of short trips under 5 miles? Then 3000 miles is a good interval. If it's all highway miles then you can stretch it to 5000 miles. Synthetic is always better because of it's resistance to breaking down and loosing it's lubrication abilities. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if it's required in that car.

In the manual it says I only need to change my oil every 7,000 miles. Is this correct?

If strictly highway driving, yes. If driving dusty rural roads then you need to change more often (filter too)--like 3000 miles.

How often do I change the oil in my new Lincoln MKX ...every 2000 km or every 5000 km?

The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
