Good Tip on Making Your Vehicle Run Better

This applies for any vehicle. Most of us know that gas prices arent exactly cheap right now and so we accomodate by purchasing cheaper gas, but here's some good info you should keep in mind. Fuel currently is mixed differently than it was back when there was the option for leaded gas. the past years low octane unleaded gas was cheap but well mixed and made, so most vehicles ran well off of it. Nowadays the mixing is different, and gas is more expensive. the low grade gas back then was good on cars and the newer gas not so much. our mid grade gas is the same as low grade from then. if you want to make your car run better, avoid going to arco, safeway, or any real cheap gas station. they water down their gas to make it cheaper, and its lower grade than most others, so instead of penny pinching, give your vehicle a break and instead of settling for low grade, pick the mid grade gas from stations like Shell or Chevron. i guarantee you will notice a performance difference and sometimes a gas mileage difference, especially in older vehicles that were built to run on the low to high grade unleaded of their times. its definitely worth the extra 10 cents.

The petrol gage is not working how do I fix that it is a Chevrolet captiva ltz 4x4 2008 model

Unfortunately, it's usually the sending unit that's gone bad, it's inside the gas tank.
Very few vehicles have an opening in the floor directly above the gas tank to pull the sending unit and pump. Usually you have to jack up the vehicle and drop the gas (petrol) tank.
The replacement part is cheap and a mechanic should be able to do the repair for a decent price. They have to remove most of the petrol before removing the tank so I would get the tank close to empty before bringing it in. (I know, without a gage it's hard to guess)

Driver's side front brake became suddenly stuck ( and mildly smoking) on my 1991 ford aerostar xl that has been excellently maintained. The 'Rear Anti-Lock' brake light came on yesterday and stayed on, and the 'Brake' light would come on anytime brakes were applied. The pads and rotors were replaced not too long ago. Stuck caliper maybe? Expensive to fix? I have a very honest, reasonable and competent mechanic also, who's located 2 miles away--- safe to drive there if I baby her?

yes baby it to him and replace both calipers and rotors as they will work better with your new brake pads. Do Not Do a half a job when it comes to brakes. its your family you are dealing with. calipers are cheap rotors are cheaper and pads are also cheap. its 3 hours labour to do a complete front brake job and rear brakes take 2 hours. with new shoes turn drums replace wheel cylinders and new rear brake hardware price in Canadian for front brakes under 400 price for rear under 250 American parts prices slightly different but labour times the same

sounds like your truck has the flex fuel engine. engine code 5. a flex fuel filter has the additional lines like you say your truck has. the last flex fuel filter I purchased was about $40 from napa. standard filters are alot cheaper in price.

5th gear doesn't lock

5th gear is gone, it'll be cheaper to find a good second hand one with a waranty than to get your one fixed sorry to say. The inside of gearboxes are only a place for gearbox specialists and they arent cheap unless you know someone.
