Tip & How-To about Dodge Ram 1500

How to change an air filter on most cars and trucks

You need to locate the fasteners or clips that are attached to a big plastic usually square box, usually on the fire wall. with round tubes that attach to the motor. open the box inside the box is wher the filter goes.after you change the old filter you replace with new filter. then fasten clips making sure all clips and tabs all go back into place and all close appropriately

Trying to change my air filter (engine - not cabin) on 2009 Toyota Highlander with no hep form the manual Can you advise?

It is pretty simple. There are either screws or clips (I'm not sure which, as the manual doesn't say) holding one end of the air cleaner cap assembly. Just un-fasten the screws or clips and lift the cap assembly up and out of the hooks on the other end. The air tube to the intake manifold will still be connected and my make this a little difficult to do. If so, loosen the clamps on the air tube to make it easier. After replacing the filter element, make sure the cap assembly is fitted and secured properly and all clamps are tight. (See picture)

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and want to change the air filter. Stupid question, but where is it located?

right beside the engine (the engine is in the middle) in a black box usually over a wheel. The black box will have clips (3-4) that you need to unhook. lift the box apart (might have to use some strength) take the old filter out. its about an inch thick. clean out the bottom of the box out of some debris. install the new filter positioned like the old on. close the clips. if the clips connect then youve install it properly.

How does one change air filter in 2002 VW Passat 1.8T?

Its located on the drivers side just behind the battery and in front of the strut tower, a black square box with a black round plastic tube going to it, remove the top cover and you will see the square air filter inside.
