How to install spark plugs in a 3100 gm engine

On the 3100 engine in most GM cars the spark plugs on the rear of the engine are not that visable. Here is an ideal for putting the spark plus back in with out stripping the spark plug hole assuming that you are replacing the wires also. When installing the new spark plugs in the rear of the engine it is mostly by feel because you cant see the hole, so with that in mind.Take one of the old spark plug wires and pull the spark plug boot off off it, also remove the meatal conector from inside the boot. Now you can use the boot for an extenssion, put the new plug in that boot and you can start the plug in the hole. this is a good trick you can tell if the plug is going in staight or if the plug is not in at all. After you start the plug in tighten it as much as you can before pulling the boot off and tightening the rest with a socket. hope this helps.

Will a 2002 Pontiac 3100 interchange with a 2000 Buick 3800?

Not really.
The 3100 is a Chevy 2.8 and the 3800 is a Buick engine.
Most everything is different including exhaust manifolds, engine brackets, and wiring.

rear valve cover removal 0n 01 olds aurora 3.5l v6 engine

The challenge on most GM V6s is to rotate the engine to get to the back side of the engine. Usually there is an engine mount on the left front (Looking at the car) to lossen this allows you to rotate the engin forward to get to the spark plugs etc.

Replace spark plugs in 95 buick riviera

The head on the back side of the engine is the same as the front side. The plug placement is the same. It helps to remove the coils to gain access to the rear plugs. Other than that an assortment of extensions, a flex handle ratchet, a mirror and a lot of patience. I think the dealer puts the car on a lift and reaches them from below. I use Auto-lite platinum plugs so I don't have do it so often on my 3.1L GM. The first time I changed plugs I wished I had hired the back three done.
