Tip & How-To about GMC Sonoma
If you work around the house and around cars a lot like i do, next time you find a squeaky door, leave the WD-40 alone, go for the petroleum jelly instead, like vasoline. Remove one hingpin at a time, if they are eaisily removed and clean it, Then lightly coat it with the petroleum jelly, and reinstall. Move on and do the next one. If the pin can't be removed, brush it on right at the bushing or hinge split. It lasts a heck of a lot longer than oil and does not run. I did one of my most used doors, in my home, a few years ago. The thing is still as silent as a church mouse. My wife hates it, because she always thinks i am sneaking up on her. One of these days i will do the rest. I gave my gmc pickup door hinges the same treatment. It has 207,000 miles still on the original door hinge pins with very little wear.Good Luck. Bob.
