Tip & How-To about GMC Sonoma

Fix Anything, House doors hinges, car door hinges ETC...

If you work around the house and around cars a lot like i do, next time you find a squeaky door, leave the WD-40 alone, go for the petroleum jelly instead, like vasoline. Remove one hingpin at a time, if they are eaisily removed and clean it, Then lightly coat it with the petroleum jelly, and reinstall. Move on and do the next one. If the pin can't be removed, brush it on right at the bushing or hinge split. It lasts a heck of a lot longer than oil and does not run. I did one of my most used doors, in my home, a few years ago. The thing is still as silent as a church mouse. My wife hates it, because she always thinks i am sneaking up on her. One of these days i will do the rest. I gave my gmc pickup door hinges the same treatment. It has 207,000 miles still on the original door hinge pins with very little wear.Good Luck. Bob.

How do I close my trunk? It was -30 yesterday and I had to pop the trunk, since then I have not been able to close it. Additionally the fuel door is not working either, so they may both need to be fixed. I'm not too car savvy buy any DIY advice would be appreciated, I'd rather not take it to my local Honda dealership if possible.

if you have a chance to put the car in a heated garage somewhere for some hours it would help...

squeaky plastic dial cover on a vw polo 2001

mcdevito75 here, Plastic expands and contracts with heat and cold, when plastic gets tired these properties weaken, If you can"t replace the cover try to use a little vaseoline jelly or a good penetrating oild WD 40 on it.
