Tip & How-To about Honda Civic

How to add brighter lights and restore your headlights cheap!

All this requires is toothpaste and paper towels. All that is nessacary is for you to but some toothpaste on a paper towel and scrub it on your headlight and scrub it in a circle. you will notice it clearing up and then just wipe away the toothpaste with another dry towel. just repeat for the other headlight and you will have restored your headlights without the overpriced work!

My lights are very dim will cleaning the lens work and what do I use

first fit new bulbs
and check the earth contacts

if still dim

if they lenses are plastic and clouding over
there is a very fine grit sandpaper kit you can buy
or try heaps of toothpaste and paper towel
..takes a lot of effort either way to get them clear again

cheaper than replacing the whole light unit

if typical glass lens
take the whole light unit off the car take the bulbs out
into the dishwasher
windex and paper towel
vinegar and water

How can I help clean the rust from the bottom of my ford windstar 2003?

Scrape off the rust, using a wire brush or scrubbing pad. This technique removes small rust. GM MDI
Apply a rust remover, using a steel wool pad or paper towel. Rub the rust remover into the rust.
Wait 10 minutes for the rust remover to work. Most rust removers contain hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid or other strong acids that dissolve rust.
Clean away the rust remover and the rust with paper towels. Dampen a paper towel, and wipe the areas, again.
Paint on a primer with a paint brush. Let the primer dry. The automotive primers offer protection against rust.
Use touch-up paint that is the same color as the Ford Galaxie. Apply it to all areas that are missing paint. Let the paint dry, before driving the car.

The CD player doesn't always work. It cuts on and off at times. What should I do?

check and make sure the CD's aren't scratched. If they are scratched use toothpaste to clean it by,
1.put 3 or 4 pea-sized dots of toothpaste around the cd.
2.take some kind of cloth or tissue paper to rub the toothpaste
3.rub from the middle to the outside, ACROSS the circular path (if you're not rubbing in this direction, you're not doing any good)
4.and wash off the toothpaste and any tissue follicles that got attached to the cd, throw the tissue/cloth out
5.-dry the cd on a clean towel
if this doesnt work take try blowing into the cd player, their may be a build up of dust.

remove oil pan

Try this, before removing bolts, breaking loose the factory gaskets seals, fighting with cross members and steering joints, some vehicles can never get done correctly unless a professional mechanic with proper tools and educated ways of removing a oil pan. clean it up where the crack is place some paper towel there after draining out all the oil you can, hint-- might need to sit a day with clean paper towel under it making sure its not releasing any more oil out the crack, scrub it with sand paper when its all dry and clean place some "seal all" brand glue over the crack seal all works on oil, grease, gasoline, must be absolutely clean and dry first. after two coats it dries fast then place some paper in third layer to give more stability to the patch. most of the time you will not need to replace the oil pan. if it still leaks get a good book on your vehicle in the public library they give instructions on most all repairs.removal and replacement.
