oil change reset

Under the hood there should be a covered fuse block. Turn the ignition to on, but don't start the car. Take the cover off and there should be a oil reset switch. Press that for 20 seconds and if the CHANGE OIL SOON light is flashing, it's done. Turn the IGNITION off and then start the car. It should be gone, if not, repeat the process a few more times should do it.

how can I reset the oil gauge on the dash?

I found that on my 2008 Saturn Aura (4 button DIC) that the following steps must take place to reset the oil life:
1) place ignition switch in run position
2) cycle through features by pressing the info button until the oil life is illuminated
3) depress all 4 DIC buttons at the same time; instrument panel will read "reset oil life"
4) release all buttons
5) depress bottom button (w/left pointing arrow) and oil life will read "acknowledged"

Good luck

Its part of a sensor, what you need to do is look in your owners manual under "fuses" and turn to the page, then it will show u what fuse means what and somewhere around that should be the "how to" section...look up on how to turn off your oil light, there will be a sequence you have to follow tho, you can't just hit the button and it will turn off....so try that cause i remember the same thing happened to me with my alero and thats what i had to do...
