Tip & How-To about Chevrolet Silverado
When replacing your front or rear brake pads, don't forget to clean and lubricate the brake caliper pins.
Dry and rusted caliper mounting pins will cause uneven wear of the new brake pads and insufficient braking when brakes are applied.
Remove the pins from the brake caliper, wire brush or sand the rust off of the pin and apply a liberal amount of grease to the pin. Check the pin seals for any damage and replace as necessary.
Good luck and happy stopping.
