Tip & How-To about Cars & Trucks

Need to know year or engine size?

Open the hood and look up.
You should see this little sticker under there on the bottom of the hood itself.

Here you can see the production year, engine size and more.

Giving us this information helps us to help you.

So rather than saying "Where is the coil on my chevy", You can add in some more information as some parts have different locations depending on the year and engine size.

So with this little sticker, you can now ask, "Where is the coil on my 1999 Chevy silverado. Engine size 5.0L"
This will help us get you the correct answers much faster.

how do i know if my 1999 subaru outback legacy has a 2.5l or 2.2l engine

When you pop the hood there is usually some sort of sticker, or badging on the engine itself that will say what it is. If it isn't there then somewhere in the engine compartment there will be a sticker, usually white, that will have the engine size on it.

On the radiator support, there should be a sticker with the correct gap listed.
Call autozone or any parts store, and they will have the correct gap for you.

.044 should be it.
