Tip & How-To about 2004 Ford Freestyle

2004 Freestyle Engine won't turn over.

The oil light started coming on and off after an oil change. The car was parked by the road idling when it just suddenly stopped. The starter won't even crank the motor anymore. Do you think the engine could be seized? Has anybody else had this happen?

Hi,
Bad news....if you ran low on oil, the car likely sustained engine damage and will need major engine repair/replacement.

A mechanic can determine the exact issue.

Oil light keeps coming on at an idle

ok. oil ight is probably nothing more than a faulty pressure switch. You can have pressure checked at same screw in port. 15psi is ok...just. very cheap to replace. Ign control module is probably the cut-out fault. You cant really test it; repair by substitution is the trick.
