INITIALIZATION
1. INITIALIZATION OF SLIDING ROOF MOTOR
(a) The sliding roof AUTO operation and the jam protection function may not operate normally if the battery
is disconnected/reconnected, replaced or recharged. Initialize the sliding roof system using the method
below.
(1) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(2) Initialize the sliding roof by pressing and holding the TILT UP switch until the roof glass tilts upward
fully (the roof glass automatically tilts downward slightly after fully tilting upward).
(3) Release the switch.
HINT:
If the battery terminal is disconnected, the moon roof control ECU may not detect the position of the roof
glass. If the sliding roof AUTO operation is still disabled even after the sliding roof drive gear has been initialized,
the hall IC may be malfunctioning. The hall IC is built into the sliding roof drive gear and detects the
roof glass position.
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive gear assy (moon roof control ECU).

Tirepressure light

You can reset the sensors with a strong magnet. Just hold the magnet infront of the tire sensor for 30 seconds with the ignition on. They will reset. If the problem persists you may have to go to the dealer.

I live in Florida and

Hello. There are a few possible causes of these symptoms. Begin by replacing the gas cap. Yes, the gas cap may be faulty and causing this problem.

Next, it could be a leaking injector, perhaps even stuck open. It might be flooding the engine, causing a no start until it clears.
Try running some good quality injector cleaner (I use a product called Seafoam) along with the next fillup. Some cleaners actually do a better job on an empty tank, so check the instructions. Sometimes you have to repeat this procedure a couple of times. It certainly never hurts and is an inexpensive way to see if it fixes your problem.

Finally, remove your battery clamps and clean the inside of each one along with the battery terminals. Regards, Joe

Spare/extra key will not start the car

Key must be made by the dealer and programmed to the vehicle. There is a chip in the key that the antitheft system must read to start the engine. Any key blank with matching cut can open the door, no chip necessary

The heater core leaks and I was wondering what is

When the heater core is leaking in this particular car -- the dash assembly has to be removed to access the heater box assembly.. This job is long and you have to be patient. If you are going to take on this type of job I suggest that you take pictures as you go so you can refer back to them to reassemble the dash.. It would be a good idea to pickup a Haynes Manual which discribes in detail how to do this job.. Please note (make sure you disconnect the battery before you start working on the dash, this vehicle is equipped with air bags .. when you reconnect the battery later you may have an air bag light come on in your dash which will need to be cleared with a scanner, most repair shops now a days have one and it usaully costs about $100.00 to do this.. Good luck

How do I remove the front headlight bulb in my

I am no expert, that being said, I went to the auto part store with my manual and got the bulb needed for low beam lighting. Seeing what it looked like helped greatly. HOWEVER, when I went to replace it, it didn't require a new bulb, it just came loose and needed jiggling. My 2003 Solara, the holder/bracket piece that holds the bulb is red, the light pops in that socket. I would have never known this if not for the auto part guy showing me under the hood. Good luck.

Car runs great but has 128 k dont know previous

If you have the owners manual start by looking at the recomended service or replacement intervals. You may want to pull a few plugs just to see if they were replaced at 100,00.Would be better if you could get service records.See if you can do a carfax, but will only show if it was taken to the dealer and if they sumitted a report. Not sure if you can take the vin# to a Toyota Service Dep. if they can give you any records they have. The only other main concern would be if the timing belt 3.3L had been changed. Or timing chain on 2.4 L When it needs serviced.

I have a 2004 Toyota Solara 3.3 liter engine. I

If the manufacturer says it is correct, first thing I would do is call them again and record it. In my experience, they should be just as safe as the old hubs, but in the fluke chance there is a problem, you have leverage to use against the company.
Most of the time when they update a part from vehicles they will use the same updated parts for 2 near identical parts originally used. Sometimes it's a matter of technology allowing them to make better, more compatible parts, sometimes it's negligence and the unwillingness to produce 2 parts when 1 could work.

Both radiator fans on my 2002 Toyota Solara V6 run constantly

Check to see if the radiator fan relay has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Once you located the relay, (in the fuse box under the hood) Try swapping it out with another relay and see if the fans stop, if the fans stop working with the swapped relay, replace the relay. It's know for the relays when they go bad to stick and will have a close loop. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running 100% again soon.
