Diagram for wiring for break lights on rav4 1996
The AutoZone website may have a wiring diagram in the sites self help repair section. If you have a voltmeter check for voltage and ground continuity at the bulbs. Check for voltage before and after the brake switch (operate the switch). If you don't have a voltmeter connect something up with a 12V bulb.If you have voltage after the switch (when operated) but none at the bulb might check the brake/tail light sensor. This is the actual sensor box located in the trunk, drivers side. The sensor can fail resulting no brake lights. There have been various posts at this forum on the sensor, suggest you do a site search to find these and review them. But first start checking for voltage.
The OBD machine detect manifold absolut pressue
the m.a.p. sensor could be going bad,or it could be a vacume line leaking.or an electrical connection to it.if its detecting to high or to low pressure it will throw a code.better off replacing it with an o.e.m from toyota, cause some universal aftermarket ones are known to cause problems, and throw more codes.
Can I add something other than brake fluid (maybe
no, the hydraulics is not the issue, its time to replace the clutch. there is no quick fix or easy patch job, replace the clutch (hydraulics dont affect how the clutch holds, they mearly either disengage the clutch or do nothing)
1996 RAV 4 - (5 door) Front windsheild washer
when you twist or push the button for the washer (engine off key on) do you hear the motor whine? if so check that the sprayer ends are not blocked. you can use a sewing needle to poke the holes out where they spray to the windshield. if the motor does not engage then check the fuse if its good then the motor has failed and needs replaced. its located on the fluid bottle. hope this helps
I have a rav 4
I think you have a problem with MAF mass air flow or the TPS throttle position sensor.
Miss fire but no lights on changed the plugs and
A lean fuel mixture will not yield poor fuel economy but a misfiring cylinder will. You have already replaced the coils and the plug leads to the cylinders in question so they should not be an issue.Do
the codes still indicate a misfire on cyls. 2 & 3? If so have you
looked at the plugs? Has the oil leak around the plugs been stopped?
Are they oil fouled? Could the pooling oil around the plugs be shorting
the spark discharge to ground?or Valve Cover gasket is leaking. That's why you see some motor oil in the sparkplug sleeve (tube). removed the spark plug and My suggestion is to remove the sparkplug in cylinder 2 & 3 or
whichever ones that the scanner indicated as "misfiring". Take a look at
the sparkplugs and see if there's any oil around it. If you see any
traces of oil, that means your gasket is worned out and need to replace.Good Luck in getting your problem fixed. If you need any further help -

High fuel consumption rate
Check your air filter first before everything else. If it is dirty that is your problem.
When the filter clogs it mean the engine has to work harder to get the same amount of air, so it consumes more fuel.
