Engine check warning light comes on have checked
The check engine light can come on for several different reasons. The reason can prove to be major or a very minor one (such as a loose gas cap) The simplest and cheapest way to find out what the trouble could be is to stop by your local auto parts store such as Advance Auto Parts, or Auto Zone (make sure that the check engine light is on whenever you drop by) They will hook up a code reader to your car, and point you in the right direction. They can either pinpoint the problem, or sometimes inform you of a handful of problems that it could "possibly" be. Most of the time it will prove to be a simple little thing. I would suggest this before I spent any money taking it to a dealer service deptartment who can charge an enormous amount of money just to look at your vehicle and "hopefully" diagnose the correct problem.
My car is making a metal rattleing noise when I
it can be from a heat shield on your catalytic converter or the converter itself going bad. the best way is let someone hear where it is coming from when you are pusing the gas, good luck
Hello emissionwiz it looks that you know about
if the timming belt broke when the engine was running most of the time the valves get bent and leak (head off repair) you could check this once you have replaced the belt before you start remove rocker cover and check for gaps between cam lobe and valve bucket when lobe is not pushing bucket down if there is a gap valve is bent.
these vehicles came out with a single cam or twin cam engine also so which one have you got?
valves bent on both engines when belt broke while running
on single cam engines you lock the tensioner with pin and loosen water pump and turn to obtain correct belt tension then release lock pin in tensioner and check that marks on tensioner align up if not turn water pump to get correct. some times this then causes the seal on the water pump to fail if its been there for some time because they corrode in block and its only a "O" ring so you might need a waterpump and "O" ring and coolant use grease on waterpump and "O" ring to make sealing and turning if needed eazier.
ifyou need any more info let me know even if twin cam can send pics also
I have a 2001 Daewoo
Hi,
Okay. You want to first make sure that the engine air filter is clean.
If it is then the other parts that will cause this is either bad oxygen
sensors or a bad MAP sensor. Most of the time if there is not any
check engine light then the problem is in the oxygen sensors in the
exhaust. As you have already replaced that, kindly check other parts i mentioned. I would first spray a little wd40 on them because they do become corroded.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Signal wont blink
did you inspect the bulbs to be sure none are blown? If so, try replacing the turn signal flasher
Ck
Have a Daiwoo Lanos 2000
not really but they do suffer from mass air flow sensors to some extent ,had to renew quite a few on these earlier cars when they get a bit older
How do you check the Auto Transmission fluid on
The way to check the transmission fluid is like old vehicles, there is a screw in the low part of the transmission in the driver's side but towards the opposed wheel, you have to work under the car and take off the screw. If leaking fluid is good In not, you have to refill.
The Daewoo Lanos needs 12 quarts of Fluid.
