check the wires going from the driver door into the kick panel there should be a rubber thing around the wires and cut it off and the wires usualy break and loose connection

Does the security light stay on ? Your key may be worn down to the point where the ignition tumblers no longer hit the proper points.

It shouldn't, they are separate systems. You may need to reprogram the key fob, (If that's what you meant by "keyless") but that can only be done by dealer on that vehicle. If the passlock gives you problems, you can bypass that. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/

The motor on the power steering is overheating which causes the thermal overloads to trip.

go tho the junk yard and buy a motor for a 2004 thru 206 ion or a 2004 thru 2008 chevy colbalt.

they are all the same. You may have to buy the wholle steering colum but you can remove the motor with 2 - 12mm bolts and a quick dissconnect pulg. Replace just the motor as the whole steering colum is a bit more complicated. the dealerships want you to replace the whoe steering colum, in fact that is the only way they sell the parts. It is a scam. Just the motor needs to be replaced.
I have done it on 4 different ions. try to get a motor with few as possible miles and as new as possible. I have paid between $50 and $125 for these. The dealer wants $900 fnad about $500 to install. It is very simple to do. Only 2 bolts.

The engine most likely stalled due to the exhaust system being under water. When this happens the engine can't breathe properly and will stall. The vehicle may be flooded. Try holding your foot to the floor and cranking the engine to help clear a flooding situation. There may have also been some electrical that has gotten wet as well but it should be dried out by now as it is designed to operate in wet/rainy conditions

SHOULD BE IN FUSE BOX UNDER HOOD CHECK OWENERS MANUEL IT WILL TELL YOU LOCATION MIGHT BE LISTED AS BATTERY FUSE.

The battery in your remote m may be going bad. Don't know why this happens but it does. That little battery can give you, your car and your neighbors a real headache. Hope this is the fix.

if you connected the jumper leads up wrongly you have most likely put 24 volts into the system instead of 12 volts & damaged all of the electric components including the computer, you will need to consult an auto electrician to sort out the problem.....hope this helps.....cheers

Good question hard problem . The cable is likely not broken just streched so now the level inside the vehicle can't travel enough to pull the cable far enough to pop the latch. You need to remove the cable from the inside level eighter by removeing the int. lever and slideing the cable out it has a little drum at the end of the cable that fits into the lever .If you can get the cable out you can take a pair of vice grips and pull the cable the hood should pop if the isn't broken or frozen inside the jacket. Try to save the cable if you can you can put spacers at the hood latch end I have used cable ties to do this take up the slack . But the cause of the problem is the hood lacth lack of lubericant you will need to clean it get it moveing freely again and lub .it with white lithium greese .It comes in a spray can .Do all door hinges strickers and latches every few year and they will last longer and not give you problems .
