Location of bolts and fixings
Hi, please kindly re-phase your question on the bolt and fixing issue. I don't understand what you mean by location of bolts and fixing...
Hi new to this site
Very difficult to say on this one thats for sure ,well firstly buying the part on E bay doesnt mean a lot to me because i know lots of people in the motor game flog bits on their where they have tried to repair a vehicle and ordered parts and then fitted them and not cured the problem so they put them on this site ,ok they are new electrical parts that are not returnable ,but they swop a bit or damage then electrically when trying to cure the fault .So new part from dealer in a sealed box as same thing happens in the dealers as well with light fingered mechanics or storeman swopping bits willy nilly .best advice is park an identical car next to this one and swop bits till you cure it .or change both components the throtte pedal end and the pump end .right must fly my friends flight cancelled due to snow in the uk .if you need anything else please reply to this post
When the engine revs up
THAT MEANS ENGINE IS NOT GETTING (FLOW) SUFFICIENT/ REQUIRED OIL AT THE HIGHER RPM. WHEN REQUIRED LUBRICATION NOT TAKES PLACE THE METAL PARTS CREATE MORE HEAT DUE TO FRICTION. THIS WILL LEADS TO OVER HEATING OF ENGINE AND ENGINE GET SEZED.
HENCE PL DONT RUN THE ENGINE AT HIGHER RPM AND DO THE REPAIR IMMEDIATLY.
SOLUTION:.
THE CASES MAY BE,
1.LOW LEVEL OF ENGINE OIL AT ENGINE. PL CHECK THE OIL LEVEL BY CHECKING THE OIL DIP.
IF SO POUR SOME OIL AND CHECK.
2. IMPROPER QUALITY OF THE OIL, WHICH NOT WITH STANDING AT HIGHER RPM.
3. LOWER VISCOSITY (THICHNESS) OF THE OIL MIGHT HAVE USED, INSTEAD OF RECOMMENDED ONE. IF SO OIL IS THE PROBLEM REPLACE RECOMENDED OIL IMMEDIATLY.
4.LOOK IN TO THE OIL PUMP PRESURE ETC., OR CHOKE IN ENGINE OIL FEEDER LINES.
iF NOTHING ABOVE ONE PROBLEM OF ENGINE SHOULD BE MONITOR BY COMPUTER WITH SERVICE STATION.

Hi there ive got aproblem with fuel tank ran low 3
all veedub have self bleeding systems, if smokey, try a fuel additive redexe/wynns to see if you get any improvement first.check filter is still clean after 100/200 miles, pipe may have got bits in it.... (i put a gallon of petrol in 10 gallons of diesel and the difference after was amazing, although you have to be gentle,no hard acceleration/heavy loads for 200 miles)
I am attempting to replace
I don't have a manual for the 80, but from what I can see on the other models, you can adjust the altenator for tension instead of a tensioner pulley. Keep altenator loose, put belt on, then use prybar to put pressure on altenator to make belt tight. Then tighten down in place.
My audi 80 just up
the problem can be of battery, alternater, starter or fuel pump.most probably the alternator is bad in your car . Normally, the electricity needed to run your car comes from the alternator. It provides the electricity needed to "spark" the spark plugs, for example. When your alternator goes kaput (which it will, in every car, at some point, but often it's between ~75,000 and ~135,000 mi) the electricity needed to run your car is drawn from the battery ... right up until the time when the battery's power is drawn down to zero. At that point, your car will usually rumble & sputter a little bit, and then it will just die. You won't have lights or any "juice" to turn the starter over or anything. When you connect the jumper cables, you will see some sparking, which is normal, as you deliver power from the good charging system (on your friend's car) to your own completely discharged battery. If the cables are connected properly, the sparking is nothing to worry about, but you still will not be able to drive the car. You can avoid paying for a tow by removing your battery from the car, charging it using a charger ($35 to $85 at Wal-Mart & auto parts stores) --- usually takes overnight -- re-installing the battery in your car, and then driving immediately to where you can get your car repaired. At a dealer, they're going to charge you $300 or so for a new alternator (depends on the car). You can probably pick one up at Auto Zone for about $100, and the replacement is probably a 1-day job for a novice, and a 20-minute job for an experienced mechanic. Check out Auto Zone's web site (autozone.com) for more help.
but as per advise i will suggets you to get the car diagnosed at the diagnostic center.after diagnosing you will get the fault codes so it will indicate the exact faulty part to be replaced.at
www.autozone.com its absoluletly free to get car diagnosed.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
When you key open front
which means your central locking is not working..you need to remove the door cover and get to the lock mechanism. It might need changing or may be a wiring problem or else it out of range which a bit of adjustment could solve this.Hope this helps.
Central locking doors not working
Hi,
I think it is a problem in the central locking electronics possibly a switch sensor. As I suggested;
"I suggest you take the vehicle to the dealer where they can interrogate the on board diagnostics and possibly get a handle on what is going on. They can also get a hold of Audi's technical support and see if they know of any conditions to cause this.
This is not a common condition, and they may have a difficult time determining the cause, unless the on board diagnostics points them towards it. I wish I could tell you what the actual problem is, but without the vehicle for hands on testing I can not.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Looking for a english service manual for a 1994
The normal workshop manual source is the Haynes Manual...but unfortunately (as you may already know) they have not produced one yet for this model (According to their website, this is "under consideration"
A recommended source of free information (basically a parts catalogue but not a manual )can be found here
http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/au/A80/
Also try looking through here ( put Audi80 in Search box)

I have an Audi 80
The problem is that your car has a chip inside the key fob and if it does not activate when inserted inside the car it has to be reprogrammed. I should'nt not work when only chaning the battery, but most comon with these cares is the control module for keyless entry/security gets thown out of whack. You might be able to just have the dealer reprogram the remote but they do charge a fee for this.
