Valve tappet adjustment
well, I can see ur message has been here for quite some time. Most probably you got the answer to ur request.
I just did the valve clearance on the engine of my SJ413 that has the 1000cc engine of an SJ410 :
When cold: 0.13mm Intake and 0.18mm Exhaust
Engine sounded well and worked fine after that.
Enjoy

Head gasket orientation
cool an old sammi
what engine, may are swapped now this old
if you had bought a real FELpro gasket, the word "up" go up.
but my guess a china clone and is unmarked, right>?
the suzuki sold gasket is marked TOP.
lets look at the free fsm. book
the official factory service manual.
chapter 3? ENGINE 3- page 35+
page 45 its there.
but if you look closer. see that front left corner in the enigine
block and that tiny hole there 1/8" 3mm
that is the head main oil gallery, if blocked, the cam burns to a crisp
at first start up.
the gasket only fits one way and not blocking that (front to rear)
left and right is a no brainer, right? (the block drains are obvious)
the right front has a Ferrel ring guide. mine has 2 F/R
if THOSE are missing the cam belt will NEVER run true.
and these rings, also make gasket on wrong, impossible flipped left to right.
The FSM , left end of photo is forward cylinder #1
volume 1, chapter 3

Procedure of tappet adjustment
make sure engine is warmed up. Put cylinder one at top dead center, remove the valve cover, loosen all adjustment lock nuts, adust intake and exhaust valves on cyl #1 and intake valve on #2 and exhaust valve on #3. now rotate crankshaft 360 degrees clockwise, now adjust intake valves on cyl#3 and cyl #4 and exhaust valves on cyl #2 and cyl #4.now tighten lock nuts and install valve cover. specs are intake valves 25mm clearance and exhaust 28mm clearance, use a feeler gauge, heres a picture to show you where to check clearance.
Car starter doesn't have enough power to crank my car
old post. and all are easy.
1.3L sammi G13A engine with some carb, old or updated.
slow cranking has 2 causes (not parts cause)
1: low battery voltage to the starter.
2: or that old mech, stand alone dizzy is adanvced do bad the engine wants to start backwards, slowing the starter motor.
my guess is you battery is discharged, or has very low CCA rating
so when you add the jumpered in battery CCA is now 2 times spec.
effectively (almost) hiding the crazy dissy advanced timing.
also that old POS dizzy has fly weight advancing mechanism
in the base of the Dizzy that LOVE to stick wide open (rust)
so clean and lube them first.
then set the static timing,
and last set it at hot idle.
2: the dash gauge sender (1pin type) is bad.
3: old engines, 28 years old , all burn oil, how could they not?>
but a clogged PCV valve makes it worse.
as does running crazy thin oil. try 10w-40 in the summer and 10w-30 winter.
or the oil control rings are bad. (or stuck in lands)
or the oil seals on the valves are like brick flexibility.
or valve guides are long ago worn over spec.
Low oil pressure
55 is max (pressure relief)
20 is typical hot engine at 800 idle. and rises as RPM rises.
your post tells neither , temp, or RPM
4x4 high low gets stuck in neutral
this is a Part time 4wd system
and is not to be used on hard pavement.
not posting road surface makes answers, IMPOSSIBLE
its for ice, snow or dirt never pavement pure. ever.
or risk windup or worse
BTW 4wd means the front axles is locked too. (hub locks)
Suzuki even has a TSB showing how to unwind a kick or sammi.
amazing how this needs to be said but. here its,
ITS NOT AWD.
