Water pump is on passenger side behind timing belt cover.

If you have recently fitted new hardware. Take it out.
If not, buy a power surge protector from your local pc store

most likely spot is under the dash where the fan motor is

You have a Parasitic battery drain, check at night for interior lights that may be staying on, check the sun visors for sure.

Check the owners manual for relay locations. Also could be a circuit breaker. If you need a manual check this site. https://www.manualslib.com/

Throttle body may be dirty.. Clean the throttle body and the mass air flow sensor.

If it is stuck open, no idle......If stuck closed, spark knock during acceleration.........

Any codes? Tune up, coils, wires.

you have to secure the cable back into the correct position if you are not applying the foot brake when selecting out of park you will have difficulty as thee is a switch on the brake that releases the lock pin that keeps it in park

The fuel filter is located under the car near the rear. under a cover.

replace the master cylinder as the compensating port is blocked

if mercury is a ford make there will be plenty of tensioners available at the wreckers /junk yards remember, that car, is a re-badged Nissan so again there will be parts available from Nissan spares or wreckers /junk yards

Not sure, but you may need a more sophisticated scanner that will also report special codes that for instance the transmission module communicates to the powertrain control module (PCM- the main computer on the vehicle, but nowadays there are also computers on several other systems, like the transmission and the chassis electrical system, and the ABS system. They all communicate with the PCM. I thought all codes were available from the PCM, but maybe not in your case. Anyway, if you have a friend with a more high-end scanner, try scanning it again. Or try at Autozone, and see what their free scan says.

If there is one on the radiator it should be on the rear at the bottom of the radiator or underneath it. Sometimes it is just a plug and not a pit ****. If none is available you can loosen the bottom radiator hose and drain the radiator from there.
