Actually I just fixed this problem on my car. You need to disconnect the daytime running lights. There is a connection under the steering wheel on the right. Solved my problem very easy.

welcome to part time 4wd, its for ice and offroad ONLY. rule #1 PT 4wd needs at least 1 tire on ice or say dirt. if not it will WIND UP AND BIND UP and damage the transfer case chain. (i see you did that)!!! also the locks love to fail, fixed many. they need greasing every 15k miles, per the book . its a constant service, and if water gets inside, AS ALL DO. then more service. on the wheel locks. if one fails the whole axle fails in 4wd.(slips but no grind/bind) got one tire on ICE or now,???? ICE or PACKED SNOW. PT 4WD IS NOT ALL WHEEL DRIVE, IT is never FOR DRY PAVEMENT OR WATER WET PAVEMENT EVER. IT'S FOR ICE. (ON THE ROAD) the question is , as for ever 1944 jeeps to now, PT is what if road is 1/2 ice,? dry, then ice then dry then ice. dig? answer, go to 2H and driver slower!!! or sell car and get a 2004+ Vitara with full time 4wd in USA suzuki is bugged out, sold all mine, they sux now. never buy any suzuki in USA or CANADA buy a real JEEP. (or Rav4 or >?) nor buy any ISUZU. here.

behind left front speaker 89-98' all. are.

its in the fsm book (suz), and answered here many times. see remove starter here http://www.fixkick.com/belts.html the 9 steps. the starter is below the intake manifold right side of engine. do not ever skip step 2.

cluster pulled. 97 is example here http://www.fixkick.com/power-elect/cluster-pull/cluster-out.html same for 98 after 95 more steps.

it busted. lol on all cars made 1: fuse blown, 2: controls bad. 3: motor bad 4 motor jammed. (tracks) 5 wires bad. end to end. we dont GUES$$, we use a thing called a voltmeter. (aka, DMM) check voltage at motor? (after fuse first) got 12vdc to motor pins,, commanded up or down? no , work up stream yes, motor is bad or jammed (tracks)

Have your starter tested. If you take it off, any parts store will test it for free. Good battery? And fully charged? Battery and starter connections clean and tight?

which engine? G16B or J18 we cant guess engines. only the 1.8 liter, has real sprockets and chains. but problem 2 is , there was no question asked. just a noun, as a question... old post.

did you clean out the passages on each side of the EGR valve when installing the new one? Sometimes carbon will plug the passages.

there is no MAP for fueling the ECU uses MAF for air flow. there is a MAP for EGR only. called a different name. do to that fact. nice guess, why not post symptoms.???????????????? this engine fuels mostly off the MAF. ture air flow. need maf test page got it. Are you using lower grade gasoline than what is recommended? If it is an older car, you require the recommended gas octane type. In newer vehicles, you don't have to worry about this as the engine will self adjust to the gas type wether it's lower or higher grade than what is needed.
