What do I do if I smell gasoline in the oil?
It is good that you have detected this problem. Gas in the oil is detrimental to the life of the engine. The oil is contaminated and probably thinned out.But it will happen shortly again if you do not find the cause. Most likely you have fuel injectors that are leaking. A bleed-down test could confirm the problem if the integrity of the rest of the fuel system allows it. Sometimes fuel pressure is too high and beyond the ability of the injectors to close off completely.Testing costs money and finding the 1 bad injector out of 4 or 6 cylinders is often more expensive than just replacing all of the injectors. You can try to remove sparkplugs after the engine has set overnight and see if one plug is wet. But the fuel may not run down on the sparkplug or you can have an intermittent problem and the engine seals just before testing and you miss it.There are different injection systems and I am not familiar whether you have throttle body injection(one or two injectors) or the port injection for each cylinder. Some older Models could even pass Emissions with Carburetors. An internal leak in a Carburetor would give you the same problems. You do need to get the bad oil out of the engine, but it will quickly be contaminated if you do not fix the cause. The white smoke can be moisture, but not necessarily from an engine defect; the new gasahol fuel attracts water. Please rate my info. Check autoparts sites for pictures of your injectors. Autozone,Advance, Oreilys to name a few.
Gas leak at the middle pass.side of car.
find the fuel leak, then cut the line out in that section that leaks. go to any auto parts store and buy fuel injection hose for your car. and 2 injector line clamps, put the length of hose where you cut bad line out. clamp it good, test for leaks, then your ready to go ! good-day !
Car stalls out at stops
92 sundance isnt "carbuerated", unless you had it carb'd. They have what is called throttle body injection. and your problem could be something as simple as just needing a tune up!
