If I leave pickup 8 hours, why is it dead and has to be jump started?

Sounds as if there is a parasitic draw on the battery. You need to perform a draw test to see what amperage is being drawn from the battery while the vehicle sits. Anything more than !/4 amp will kill the battery overnight. Check for any lights that may be staying on inside the vehicle as well as outside the vehicle while it is shut off before getting involved in a draw test

How change spark plugs

Have a look on the following link for the socket/wrench/tool you will need: spark plug socket Google Search To avoid getting the ignitions leads replaced in the wrong order: Remove ONE lead from ONE plug at a time. Use the tool/socket to remove that plug by turning anti-clockwise. Put the new socket in hand tight - this is to avoid cross-threading the spark plug and damaging its threads/threads in cylinder head. When the spark plug is hand-tight/finger tight, tighten it with the socket /tool. Just 'gently tighten it up' - do not overtighten. Replace the ignition lead and then move onto the next plug. removing spark plug Google Search

What causes P0172 how to fix truck is runing bad please help

Hi Gerard: White smoke can be an indication od a bad head gasket. Are you losing engine coolant? If you remove the spark plugs and find bad fouling that will confirm the problem cylinders. Then I would suggest doing a compression test..

Why is there a clunking noise only when turning hard left, e.g., when parking or making a U-turn?

sounds like your cv joint needs replacing on that single side if you are hearing a grinding# How are your anti roll bar bushes and drop links? It may be a combination of things rather than just the one. Clunking and grinding do not necessarily go together but might be a symptom of a single issue. Maybe Fixya should set up a sound file facility so that we can listen to such sounds too!!

My headlight on my ford f150 will not turn on

It sounds like you have either burned out the plugs or a wire leading to the headlights.

First thing to do is check the plugs for power with a multimeter. If there isn't any, then start tracing the wiring.

If there is power, check your light switch and the signal stalk. Often times the trigger for the high beams dying cuts off all power to the headlights.

What could be causing my f-150 to smell and white smoke coming from engine after driving it at highway speeds and feeling like towing heavy load? 3 different shops and no one knows what's causing it?

Most people associate white smoke as a blown head gasket but I had a Ford that was dumping fuel and it had heavy white smoke and stunk out the exhaust. It had bad injectors. Let your mechanic read your fuel trims on his scanner after a long highway drive. Or do a fuel leak down test on them to know for sure.
