What does a car do when goes in theft mode
The car will not be able to start with your own key. This reset is for ford cars. Press loud speaker icon on the remote entry key. The alarm will sound. Now put your key in the ignition and to it to the on position. This will reset the alarm. Now turn key to off position. Then turn key back to the on position. The securilock indicator on the instrument panel will light up for 3 seconds and then turn off. The securilock feature is now deactivated. Turn key to off. Then try to start the car with the key. This procedure should work for most ford cars.

Ford galaxy has total power loss and we are baffled!!!
it doesnt sound like your coil pack has gone has the 98 galaxy has 2 and if 1 was to go you would get irregular engine running.
If you have a 2.3 dohc galaxy there is no timing belt or cam belt, the dohc uses timing chains (it has on mine).
It is a posibility that your cam belt has snapped on other engines.
If the cam belt had snapped there is a chance that the engine would not turn over due to the valves getting in the way of the pistons.
The only thing ive ever seen this fault happen on the galaxy is from the ecu. If you turn the ignition off and on 15 times this usually resets the faults on the ecu and you might beable to start it.
Other options you may wish to try out are to see if there is a spark from your plugs.
It could be as simple as a blown fuse so check all your fuses.
The oil warning light indicates you have no oil pressure (comes on when engine off and ignition on) battery light means that ignition is on but alternator fault if engine running and if not running no charge fom alternator to battery.
My guess at your symptons are your fuel pump has broke which stalled your engine causing the lights to come on or if you have run the tank to almost empty that the sludge has blocked a fuel line or the fuel filter.
here is what i would check:
1, check for a spark from any plug,
2, if i have a spark then its most probably lack of fuel.
3, if no spark get coils tested and check for blown fuses.
4, change fuel filter.
5, get fuel pump checked out.
i hope this helps if you need any help in how to check these things just send a comment and il check the haynes manual and send you instructons.
