On a 1993 ford tempo were is the fuel filter located?
On these vehicles, the fuel filter is located on the fuel line to the carburetor. Special care should be taken when removing and installing the fuel filter, not to bend or distort the fuel line in any way.

HOW TO REPLACE A HARMONIC BALANCER IN A 93 FORD TEMPO
I have a '94 Tempo, it had a "ticking" sound. It was the "harmonic balancer" (crankshaft pulley) a local mechanic changed it for $60, the part cost me $120 (I work for a Ford dealership) $180 without employee discount. you can get one for much less at a junkyard if you can find one. Good luck, Sean

Checked Fuel Pressure Regulator, and there was no fuel in vacuum hose. I did clean throttle body, and that helped somewhat but when it first starts up it idles up, and down for about 30 seconds then smooths out. Could it be a possible vacuum leak somewhere?
As far as I know without checking it personally it sounds like it could be one of three things (in order from easiest to hardest). Clogged air filter, worn timing chain, leaking head gasket. To check for the third go to Auto Zone and get them to do a compression check, its free. I can't remember off hand but if the 93 has a TPS (throttle position sensor) that could also cause an irratic idle.

I have looked over and over for my fuel pump relay and I can't find it. Everyone has told me it is near the battery on the strut case, but I cannot find it. I also cannot find a diagram showing me exactly where it is, can anyone tell me exactly where the relay is for the fuel pump for a 1993 Ford Tempo??? I'm desperate!!
it is in the trunk on the left hand side, pull away the trunk carpet on left side and you will see a hole with a top and bottom screw remove the screws and pull the relay out threw the hole, then disconect the wiring connector When you plug the relay back in turn on key you should here the pump run for a few seconds if it does not then replace the relay ,or the pump.

1993 ford tempo 2.3..makes a rattling sound at idle...if i kick up the idle..it stops..does that sound like a harmonic balancer??
No, not the harmonic balancer ... that does nothing but offsets the crankshaft from being out of balance.
Sounds like a worn motor mount that is not completely broken. The engine is transferring vibration to the chassis through the worn motor mount.
Hope this helps.

Scraping grinding noise in front passenger side wheel. Could it be a replacable wheel bearing?
When both a scraping and grinding noise is heard from a wheel, it typically indicates a problem with the brakes, not the bearings. If when the brakes are applied, the noise changes, it does indicate a possible brake issue. I would first check the brakes and then take a close look at the bearings, as they can still cause the grinding noise, but not typically the scraping noise. Hope this is helpful.

When I put my car into Drive, the car makes a very loud clunk noise as its going into gear, it the original automatic 1993 ford tempo transmission, it also does the same thing going into reverse, not everytime, but quite often
Your problem is very common.
you need to have your u-joints also known as universal joints. that is what the clunking noise you are hearing.

I have a ford tempo lx. i believe its a 93. It has automatic seat belts. the drivers side will not move up or down and is now making this grinding noise, like its trying to move. how do i fix it?
You will need to replace the trac and motor. Try a salvage yard to save money.
