My 2006 ranger wont start. Cables seem to be fine

If the jump started your vehicle and then it only ran for 2 minutes,it sounds like your alternator is not providing power to run the vehicle.

Ihave a 2006 Ford Ranger,I only have a plain key, No Buttons. It has armed itself after I shut the car off.How do I disarm it?

Doesn't need button's ,has a transponder inside the head of the key . You have a anti-theft system problem , DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in theft deterrent module. Your vehicle has what ford call's P.A.T.S - passive anti-theft system . The system isn't reading the transponder in the head of the key . You need to take it to the dealer .

Misfire ford ranger 2006

Most misfires are ignition related so it is worth checking spark plugs and spark power and quality. A bad misfire is likely to switch on a warning light and in that case a scanner could provide more information. A constant misfire on a single or a related pair of cylinders could be caused by injection or compression problems or perhaps even an air leak. I once had an engine that misfired because one cam lobe had disappeared, completely worn away. In most cases there is no shortcut and only a systematic approach to diagnosis will lead to success.

My 2006 Ford Ranger has trouble turning over after it has ran, and then sat for an hour or so. But if it sits over night, it has no problem turning over when I go to start it?

If the starter isn't reacting at all when warmed up, that's usually your problem right there. After it cools down the armature in the starter allows the power to flow. BUT CHECK THE BATTERY & ALTERNATOR TOO! CK FOR ELEC SHORTS AT BATT.

Oil in water ford ranger 2.5 td

Watch your temperature gauges you might ave accidentally used an oil jug o put water in the radiator or You either have a blown head gasket or hate to say a cracked head or block! You can do a cylinder compression test to determine which cylinder but if you get a newspaper in the classifieds there are ads for blown head gasket repair kits they cost a couple hundred but are claiming to have a lifetime guarantee now as opposed to replacing the headsets and sending the head to be inspected you are looking at atleast a $300 bill or higher just for parts if you have a mechanic do it you can get ready to shell out about $600 easy labor and parts not including tax? 06 Ranger, when I switch on defroster the air comes out the front vents. Sometimes but rarely you will get the defrost to come on. Have run the vacuum lines and did find a couple of leaks but didnt cu

Sounds like one of the vacuum motors leaks vacuum. Take the dash panels off to expose the heater ac. With a vacuum tester check each actuator and one will be leaking.

Ford Ranger diesel has noisy tappets until truck

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

I drove a diesel Chevy and had the same problem.

I reduced the noise by dropping my oil to a lower viscosity at the low end and keeping the high end the same. i.e. If O.E.M. recommends a 10W30 dropped to a 5W30. This will give you coverage at the high side and lower viscosity at the low end.

There are after market additives which are formulated to lubricate the tappets. Any parts store should be able to recommend which is best. Follow the instructions and do not add too much. They contain a "sticky" nature which could defeat the dropping of your lower viscosity.

I trust this answered your question. If I can be of further help, let me know.
