DONT DRIVE IT ANOTHER INCH. Black transmission fluid poor shifting you're close to a $3000 dollar repair bill because you have gone too long with out a fluid change. Don't flush it just change the fluid and if it has one the filter in the transmission pan. Youtube the procedure or get the repair manual. You have to do it your self or have it towed that's how seriously close you are to transmission failure. Big bucks

There may be a fusable link that looks like a wire. It can burn out and show no signs of failure.

The battrey and smoke issues may be unrelated. Or it may be that the diesel is not igniting properly because power supply is weak/reduced. (I am assuming it is diesel) If the battery drain problem is the cause of it you need to visit an auto electrician

Keeps dying? Do you have to boost it? The voltage regulator is internal to the alternator. Is there power to the alternator to turn it on? LOts of could be's here without more info

A TPS is a THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR...IT is a small plastic sensor hat is mounted a top of engine with normally 2 small head screws....You can remove it and normally see if it s bad just by looking at the small plastic lever inside .....It is either worn or broke...It is easy to see....

look in the back of the engine by the transmission side for a small window that has marks or numbers in it..then there is a notch in the flywheel visible when the no.1 cylinder is a top dead center on the mark there..takes a strong flashlight or droplight to see this..

u have a faulty switch u should replace and make sure u do not have naked wires.

The arrow at the top is cam sprocket mark,

fuel pump not working check power and relay ....turn key and listen for hissing sound from pump
