Volkswagen Jetta 2006 2.5 fuse diagram
The fuse diagams might differ slightly according to which particular model you have. A copy of the fuse diagram was typically put on the inside of the fuse panel inside your car, and in the Owner's Manual that came along with your car. If neither of those are available you can check at http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=fuse+diagram%2c+2006+vw+jetta&qpvt=fuse+diagram%2c+2006+VW+Jetta&qpvt=fuse+diagram%2c+2006+VW+Jetta&FORM=IGRE

I have a 1996 WV Polo that doesnt start intermittently (more often than not) If I interfere with some f the relays, eg pull them out and put them back then it does start on some occasions. How do you identify the Fuel relay?
Please help.
when you turn the ignition switch on, the gas pump relay should turn on and go off to pressurize the system. You can keep the car in neutral/park, get down as low as you can to the driver's floor board and reach up and turn the ignition switch to on [but not to the point that you actually allow the engine to turn over]. Repeat this step until you hear the relay and can actually feel the little black (box) that is actually performing an electromechanical switching.
Check here first----> , it is usually on a diagram within or near your fuse panel.
It is a start. Secondly, I'd check for any play/movement on your negative/positive terminals of your battery and starter motor. Should these be snug, loosen them and clean the terminals on your battery AND starter. This may be "stupid" and "obvious" to most but they don't do it and that is usually the main cause... even if it "appears good".

Hi and thanks in advance for any help. I am working on the neigbors car it is a 99 vw jetta with a 2.0 liter engine. They brought the car to me because it was making an awful noise. after i looked into it i noticed that the timing belt was being pushed into the timing belt cover due to a small gear that was cocked a little sideways. I need to know what the name of this part is and also the firing order, location of the #1 cylinder, and plug numbers on the distributer. thanks again
1) the small gear would be the tensioner gear . firing order see pic .

1997 vw jetta 2.0 timing marks
What about them? Theres one on the crank and one on the cam. Line them up. If not sure, bring #1 to TDC (top dead center), check by removing spark plug and turn over by hand with finger over hole. When air hisses out, carefully place in long 1/4" extension and watch it go up, and when it peaks its at #1 TDC. Marks should now be aligned.

battery has been replaced in remote
Hey- so i had this same problem. Neither of the rear doors would lock/unlock consistantly. All I had to do was spray a ton of WD-40 in the latch area and all around where the red manuel lock lever was on the door and then work that red manuel lock lever back and forth for about 20 min and now it works great! Hope this helps.

our 1997 gls decided to set off its alarm yesterday when we wanted to put it back into the garage. didn't do anything to cause this. reset per vw owner's manual hasn't worked. tried opening/closing all doors & hoods, still nothing.
do get sound as if starter is trying to engage. battery in very good shape. any ideas????
The alarm system just blows on these cars, its a fact.
I never use the key in the trunk because it will trigger the alarm.
I had some trouble with the alarm, and found out it was something to do with the cigarette lighter/cell phone charger connection. I simply don't use that anymore either. When the alarm triggers, and you cant turn it off with the key, it must be a fuse. The alarm will beep an annoying beep for 4 min, in that time i will disconnect the battery cable, find the blown fuse underneath the dash, replace it, and then reconnect the battery, at which time you will have to put your key in the door and disengage the alarm again, and breathe a sigh of relief. Keep a bunch of 15 or 20 amp fuses around and a 10 millimeter wrench or whatever for the battery terminal.
Good luck.
