DRL on 1999 GMC Jimmy
With the emergency - parking brake set ? Anytime the vehicle is running an the parking brake is off the daytime running lamps come on . That or the sensor on top of the dash is bad , or the DRL relay is bad or the BCM - body control module . Could have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's stored . Hooking up a factory or professional scanner would make diagnosing this easy . Do you know what wiring diagrams are ? How to use a DMM - digital multi-meter to test electrical circuits ? Free wiring diagrams here

Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine . Under system click on lighting then under subsystem click on daytime running lamps . Click the search button then the blue links .

Without the proper testing equipment an knowledge ( factory service info. ) You have no idea what's up . an don't have a chance of fixing this . Checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes is always the first step . Take's a professional type scan tool to read these codes. Serial data info from module incharge to PCM/ECM ,enable or disable fuel and or starter operation . Sends coded messages Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . That white component is the ignition switch .
The design of the passlock™ system is to prevent the vehicle operation if the proper ignition key is not used in order to start the vehicle. The mechanical key, in normal operation, will turn the passlock™ lock cylinder. The passlock™ sensor will relay the passlock™ data to the body control module (BCM). The BCM will determine the validity of the passlock™ data. The BCM will send a code password to the vehicle/powertrain control module (VCM/PCM). When the VCM/PCM receives the correct code the VCM/PCM allows the fuel injectors to operate normally. The passlock™ system requires the VCM/PCM and the BCM to communicate the various functions in order to operate. These functions transmit over the class 2 serial data line CKT 1807. For an explanation of the class 2 serial data operation refer to Data Link Communications Circuit Description in Wiring Systems
Vents blowing constant cold air...told it was the
Its more than likely the blend door not moving to the heat position. I'm not familiar with the location of the blend door in the 1999 GMC jimmy, since I'm not a mechanic and don't have a manual on that vehicle. If you can get to the blend door housing you might be able to move it physically.
Turn signal constantly making noise
May be a problem with your 4way flasher switch - may be partially engaged or failing and if so, pressing the brake pedal will stop the flasher. Try turning the switch on and off a few times.

More likely worn out bearings which are periodically seizing - have you checked the PS pump with the belt off? You should also check the other devices run by the belt for bearing trouble, particularly the idler pulley. Periodic seizing problems with worn bearings on any of these can cause the truck to stall and the low pressure signal.
I have a 99 gmc jimmy that doesnt like to start
Could be a slow IAC motor when cold.Try holding your foot down 1/4 of an inch when cold starting,if it starts quickly, then it is most likely is a gummed up/defective idle air control motor.I would like to see the engine coolant temperature sensor readings also.
2000 GMC Jimmy SLE 4D, 4WD - 2 problems:
Looks like you can get a motor assembly at Rockauto for about 180. Not sure if the relay is separate- you should check all relay and fuse boxes for anything related to the sunroof. There is also mention of a relearn procedure that supposedly fixed someone else's issue but I can't find more info on that.
You might try ebay for the circuit board. Also, do some research and see if there are other models that use the same relay (like a Chevy blazer maybe). I doubt that board is only used in your Jimmy. Sharing parts saves them money. So see where else it's usedan and that will broaden your options.
Vortec oil pump on a gmc jimmy
Don't start the car !!!
Can you see the part from the whole where the distributor goes ?
If you can you may be able to fish it out.
Your distributor has a drive shaft that goes from the dist to the oil pump in the oilpan.
Hopefully it is sitting on top of the shaft.
Their are know oil lines at the bottom of you engine, everything is internal.
If you cant fish them out from the top, the oilpan will have to be removed.
I think your best bet is to try to remove the pieces from the dist hole with a magnet on a shaft or maybe very sticky tape on a shaft.
Good luck, Robert
