There will be slippage in the transmission of any vehicle. Do you have larger than original wheels and tires for this off roading which would aggravate the situation further?

Do you think that the transmission is slipping or the differential is more to blame?

97 nissan pathfinder died while driving and wont start back up

It could be as simple as a fuel pump it could be yes your timing belt has finally snapped and when a timing belt snaps then pushes the valves up into the motor and I just want to tell you that's why a lot of people get cars have timing chains over timing belt you have a timing chain there is no. That that chain is going to break and send everything in the valves like they did for the Lexus LS400 that I had to work on so yeah I hope it's not that bad but you may want to check your fuel pump to see if your getting proper fuel but yeah if it's that bad and I'm really sorry

97 nisson pathfinder won't start some times after sitting over night.

Check the 10amp fuse 21 in the fuse box. If that is good, try to find the manifold vacuum solenoid valve. It s near the air filter as shown in the figure below. It will have two wires in the connector and two hoses attached. Test the valve by applying battery power to see if it opens. If not, replace the valve. If it opens, check the connector and wiring. The above steps are intended to resolve the 1105 code. I'm not sure this code is making the truck hard to start. With good spark and fuel pressure, the next thing I would check is for AC voltage at the Injectors. Put an AC voltmeter on one of the injector connectors and watch the voltage while someone cranks the engine. Your meter should read at least 5 volts AC. 0996b43f8020336a-j1axptdruxmkgupulmd503d3-3-0.gif 0996b43f80254d38-j1axptdruxmkgupulmd503d3-3-2.gif

97 nisson pathfinder won't start some times after sitting over night.

The next time this happens have a can of spray starting fluid handy (available from any hardware or auto parts store), spray it into the air intake of the engine if it starts you most likely have a sticking in tank electric fuel pump problem.

1997 pathfinder idle speed

How was it running before the work was done? A vacuum line in the wrong place could be holding the EGR valve open. Try unplugging the vacuum line from the EGR valve to see if it idles different. Plug the vacuum line with a small bolt or golf tee

Passenger Window Problem

On the passenger door, look for a broken wire in the door opening. So you found power on one of the two wires. That was with holding the switch in one position, either up or down, right? Try it again, now hold the switch in the opposite position as before, now the other wire that had no power the first time should now have power. If not, probably a break in the wiring, look in the door jamb. If not a broken wire in the passenger door, it could be in the driver's door. You see, the power is reversible to the window motors. When power goes down one wire to the motor, the other wire serves as a ground. The ground path goes back to the driver's master switch, where the ground for all the windows originate. Ground wire from master switch carries power to ground somewhere inside the cabin. Since other windows work, your ground is good. but the pass. window is, or seems to be missing a wire. Check by looking for power on both wires, but the window switch has to be opposite from the first time for the second wire to have power. Only if both show power is the wiring good, but they wont both show power at the same time-the switch has to be in right position to show power. I hope this is clear, post back if you don't understand. Oh yes, use the ohmmeter function of your multi-meter to check the wires' integrity. Just don't have any power on any of the wires you are checking, but check between the pass. door and the driver's master. Check both wires that go to the passenger window. That should tell you if you have a break in the wiring.
