Roof Cycle Timeout:-------------
This message will be displayed on the DIC when the
convertible top has not completed its movement
from one position to another within the programmed
time limit. When this message appears, the convertible
top will stop moving. Release the convertible top
switch and make sure there is nothing blocking the
path of the top. If the path is clear, press the convertible
top switch again.
When operating the top in low temperatures, such as
below 32 degree F (0 degree C), the time needed to cycle the top will
increase. This may cause the top movement to stop
and the Roof Cycle Timeout message to appear on
the DIC display. If this occurs, you may release
the convertible top switch and press it again to continue
the cycle. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of
the top before pressing the switch again. It may
be necessary to do this several times to complete the
cycle, depending on the outside temperature. ------------

The
first thing that you need to do is scan the BCM (body control module) for
failure codes. This top is computer controlled & will not function is certain
failure codes are set
I
would suspect a hall effect switch failure which will stop the operation of the
top
The
power retractable/moveable top system consists of the following
components:
Roof door module (RDM)
•
Hydraulic system including pump motor
•
Hydraulic lines and valve manifold
•
Electronic actuator for latching the top to the
header
•
Folding top mechanics for the top:
-
Top
-
Stowage compartment lid panel
-
Stowage compartment lid extension panel
-
Latching mechanism for the top
•
Serial data communication
•
Position sensing hardware:
-
Limit switches
-
Hall effects as position sensors of the
cylinders
•
Top open/close control switch
•
Power supply:
-
RDM/windows 30 circuit breaker
-
PWR roof 30A circuit breaker
-
RDM2 15A fuse
-
IGN 0 10A fuse
•
Grounds:

G301 Good luck, i hope this helps.
Look on the oil fill cap. Write down what it says then call around to find out who has this class of oil.You might even call the Chevy dealer and ask for the service manager, ask him .I like the Castrol Syntec 10w-30 for my 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo.
Chevrolet has stopped production of the SSR. The last model year was 2006, which was the best year (got a large HP increase). The production was ended due to what appears to be poor sales. If you still want one though, definitely get a 2006 model.
