Corvette 2001 will not start with battery cables or a other car
if the security light is on then it could be your key or ignition switch in the column is bad, around that year gm was using a resister on the single edge keys, if this has went bad then it won't even crank. i had this problem with my 01 camaro.if you want to test this idea then go to the dealer and purchase a new column switch it will be spcefic to your car so you will need your vehicle registration but don't tear into it right away find the wire connector at the bottum of the steering column it will look like the wires on the new switch and unplug the old one and plug in the new switch with the key that came with it in it try to start the car with the switch thats still in the column if it dont work then you can take back the new switch because you never installed it. If you have a spare key with that chip then try it first could just be a bad key sorry for writing a book
Right rear brake light doesn't
Check it out. Under the passenger floor panel you will find two relays above the computer box. Pull them. Check them. One of these is to the steering lock bypass which is a $19.70 part at Napa. I went through this for a week and a half and refused to get taken by the dealer for 1400.00 dollars and GM's bull s*-! Recall. Check it and you will be driving more than 1.5 MPH. C1296 service active steering
Too major for this forum - you probably should research the code online. It involves a pressure switch in the EBTCM ( electronic brake control model ) not reading the right voltage signal. It could be a wiring problem or a faulty sensor which could require having the EBTCM rebuilt. The active steering - traction control uses the brakes to keep the wheels from spinning or skidding.

Hello
Can you see the display at all?? Shine a bright light on the front to see the numbers of the display. It could be the tiny DC back-light display bulb or bulbs is burned out that are soldered to the circuit board behind the display. If you can't see the numbers then it is likely the display is burned out and you will need to remove it and send it in to a GM approved repair center to have it fixed.
Need to replace oil pan gasket on 2001 corvette.
You are best off to buy a service manual as this is a pretty in dept project.there are special tools you will need in order to remove the front cradle to access the oil pan.1-being a engine support for the engine.2-being a front leaf spring tool to relieve tension. It is best left to a experienced tech with the correct tools as you could be severely hurt if NOT careful.
