My 1996 bmw 740 il

Welcome to Fixya

First thing to do is to check the battery using a voltmeter. See if you are getting 12 to 13V reading. If you are getting below 12V then its time to replace the battery. If you are getting 12 to 13V reading then you need to tell more regarding the issue. Couple of questions are: is the engine cranks everytime you turn the key to start position? are you hearing unusual noise whent you turn the key to start position?

Thank you for uisng Fixya! If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/elixirjose_00375ea24bd8141b

I have a 95 bmw740il

hi sounds like you have a leaking heater core if you can smell antifreeze that sickly sweet smell is a give away its also worth checking your cabin filters arent blocked with leaves or debris ,if its not blocked cabin filters and you cant afford to replace the heater core a good fix is to use a cooling system sealer like "k" seal which is often seen as a temporary repair but quite honestly does a good job of fixing small leaks good luck

Doesnt run good when under qtr of a tank

That's the first signs of a weak fuel pump. You might also want to replace fuel filter, but your fuel pump is going to need replacing.

Power stering pump location

Hello,

You need to trace the hose that leads to the power steering fluids reservoir. The reservoir is by the driver side in front of the engine near the ground. see that canister in front of the engine with the screw top, that is it. Trace the hose that leads out from it to the pump. That is the power steering pump.

Take care and good luck.
Hope this helps
