2007 Lincoln MKX AWD Questions & Answers
My Lincoln MKX Sunroof isn't closing completely.
If it is able to open fully, but only closes part way it probably just needs to be lubricated. White lithium grease will do the trick. Get it in a spray can with a tube that can be attached to the spray nozzle. There is a set of tracks for the glass and one for the sunshade.Fully open the glass, then spray some into the track where you can see the roller in the track. Move the glass forward part way, then spray some into the track at the back end of the glass. Now work the glass back and forth, open and close to distribute the grease. After a few times it should fully close. Once fully closed, open fully then close fully. It ought to work correctly now. This worked for my Lincoln MKX and also for a Ford ZX3 sunroof. You might need to do the same for the sunshade track before the glass will operate properly.Recommend to do this annually. It doesn't require as much when regularly maintained.
Rear hatch won't stay up
If your rear hatch will not stay up then chances are shocks that are used to hold up the hatch are shot. If you replace the shocks that should solve the problem. I hope this helps you out.
MKX driver side mirror
You will need to remove the door panel. You can likely find a video on this subject on youtube.
How often do I change
The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
How do you change the cabin filter on a 2007
The filter is behind the glove box. Remove the glove box door, squeeze the upper rear corners inward. The door will come forward, and lift it completely off. There is a release tab on the right side of the filter access door. Open that and remove the filter.
Heated seats in 2007 Lincoln
Help anybody? I have a 2010 Lincoln MKX with heated and cooled front seats. However, when I try to turn them on (85% of the time) they don't work. Primarily when it's cold the heated seats won't stay on... The light turns on for a fast count of 1-5 and then turns off. This has happened since the car was new and I've had it into the dealer 4 times to have it fixed (with no resolve). In their defense they suggest it's fixed each time because they test the heated seats when the vehicle is warm in the shop. Unfortunately, this is nearly the only time it stays on.I would love to recommend a suggested fix to the dealer as they don't seem to be able to repair it... Any ideas???
