what i normally do if i can hear the pump running is make a spray bottle of soapy water and start spraying the air bags and hoses of the air suspension you will see the suds foam up where ever you have an air leak

The dash adjuster should operate both lamps, check the connection on the back of the lamp for security. Also check the motor on the back of the lamp for security as sometimes they get dislodged when bulbs are renewed. ( you can identify the motor by getting someone to operate the dash switch while you feel the back of the lamp, it should whirr )
