What I would do is check to make sure the neutral safety switch is connected. If yes, disconnect and check for bent pins and terminals pushed back in the connector. Dear Dennis, Mechanics will tell you you have an engine that is about to blow up. This is the symptom of such a question. I should recommend you not attempt to even start the car at all. Have it towed to a honest garage for a true diagnosis. The repair may run from many hundreds up to a couple thousand dollars. God bless your efforts.
