Hello. I think your vehicle's ECM is under the hood by one of the front wheels; in a plastic 'cabinet'. Be sure to disconnect the battery before you remove/replace that ECM. Open the 'cabinet' and carefully remove the electrical plugs. They are, usually, color coded to go into the same 'colored port'. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

Check the settings on the receiver and amp. If this HHR is wired in the usual manner, one wire pair brings power to the whole speaker unit. In that unit is an electronic device called a crossover network and it separates the sound signals to go to either speaker. If your woofer is not making sound, check the coil on that speaker and check the crossover network with an ohm meter.

Check your book that came with the car. If you don't have it go to a GM dealer and ask him. he should be able tell you. That's what I do.

replace the whole pump assembly while in there, that way everything is new .

Could be ,could also be the L/GATE RELSE relay #18 located in the under hood fuse / relay box . Does your vehicle have a sunroof .? Fuse # 10 20 amp LIFT/GATE / S ROOF Could be a BCM - body control module problem , or lock actuator it self . If the fuse an relay are good , doing some electrical testing would need to be done . Plus hooking a scan tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's in the BCM .

Check the electric radiator fan, if vehicle heats up at low speed then it sounds like the fan is not working! at high speed the air going through the radiator cools the engine. Check the fan out! What color smoke white means coolant, blue means oil, black means burning too much gas. Who did the head gasket? Check for oil in the coolant. This could mean a bad head gasket install or a cracked block. If you have blue smoke you have worn piston rings

The fuses should be located in bcm. The bcm access panel should be on the right side of center console. The wiring diagrams were with and w/o amp. I didn't know which one you had.

It is in the underhood fuse box.Fuse 4.BCM3.30amp.

The first thing I'd check is the level of the transmission fluid. Make sure the vehicle is level, and is up to normal operating temperature. Check It while it is running. If it's low, there's your problem. If it's okay, then you may need to change the transmission fluid and filter. The transmission filter is similar to a filter on an A/C unit. Like a screen to catch the junk in the fluid. It's located inside the transmission pan on the bottom of the vehicle. If you do it yourself, make sure you use the right type of transmission fluid. Filters and fluid are relatively inexpensive to replace.
With all of that being said, all of that information was for an automatic transmission. Not for a standard transmission. If your transmission fluid level is okay, and doesn't need changing. Take heart, that doesn't mean you're looking at a complete transmission replacement either.

Try getting the transmittion serviced. that would be the best first step
