2008 Opel Corsa 1.4 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Opel corsa 1.4 2008 gears are not changing when the car i on but when the car is off the gears are changing
The reason they work with the engine OFF is that they are not spinning so there is nothing stopping them moving in and out of position.
Ill need a bit more information to give you more help.
Is this a manual or an automatic vehicle? Does it do anything else when the engine is running? Does it make noises like grinding or crunching? Does it jump roughly as it goes into gear or slip into gear? Please comment below and I'll try to help you more.
Hi do i need to replace the main bearing and the conrod bearing bolts on the opel corsa 6W engine 2006 model
it is good mechanical practice to replace all bolts that are operating under tension. That includes con rod bolts , big end bolts fly wheel bolts , head studs and crank shaft bolt. Some manuals recommend the replacement of cam shaft sprocket bolts as well. This practice is recommended where the engine is driven at high rpms. It is recommended practice because the tension effect actually twists the bolt and this combined with the tensional stress makes the bolts prone to failure. As it adds considerably to the cost many mechanics do not follow the practice but will charge for the new bolts as well.

there will be no movement in the mounts unless the suspension rubber/ bushes are worn out . There will be no figures as it amounts to the fact that if you can move them then they will need replacing. take it to an accredited suspension shop and have a safety check done and have them show you what is worn and needs replacement and calculate how much you will save by doing it yourself against what they will charge for a good -safe-guaranteed job.
The trip meter and odometer digital numbers are not being displayed as complete numbers
This is caused by the display unit slowly failing and it is a common problem on Opel & Vauxhall cars. The internal circuit board is fed by a flat ribbon cable with many tiny connections. Heat, vibration and age will often cause one or two of these connections to fail, which results in dead pixels on your screen. The best solution is to buy a new display unit, although if you research using Google you may find somebody who offers a repair service.

The
following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any
electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.
The
engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only
for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the
transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in
most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory
of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as
the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done
is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system
for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for
engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained
technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then
based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the
correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer
replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other
basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with
the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine.
The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear
engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related
problems. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many
drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms
