the car is past its sell-by date ,1974 ?? the door locks work on vacumn not electric so perhaps the rubber tubes are perished

This is a vacuum leak. First try disconnecting the vacuum tube that goes through the firewall to the inside of the car and plugging it (use golf tee and tape). if it shuts off, that means the vacuum leak is inside the car (door and trunk locks).

put a spark plug in each socket you want to test and run a ground wire from the spark plug to the engine ground. then try starting the car to see it they spark. when I tested my 4 cylinder coil pack they were all together. I had 4 plugs sticking out and used an old stripped wire and wrapped around each base of the spark plug in series and then tied it to a ground point. worked great

You will need a DMM with continuity testing to troubleshoot the problem. Continuity testing works by "beeping" when the circuit is complete. Test continuity from under trhe dash to the lights by using the wiring diagram. Move from node to node testing continuity until the break in the circuit is found. Replace as necessary. Get a wiring diagram and DMM from local autoparts store. Chilktons and/or Haines manuals contain all necessary wiring diagrams for troubleshooting.

RadiTor prolly.. or trans cooler..or even power steering cooler...prolly messed up threads/connection and will need to b replaced if it isn't the line itself

If you are talking about the roof glass,look along runners with window back and open.Phillips or cross head screws should be on both runners. These all need to be taken out,but mark things on a diagram when removing,and stick down on it so they do not roll off.The glass position can be marked with chalk so you know exactly where it goes,otherwise it will take for ever to get back in. LUCK

post all things that fail and work both all maters engine starts , runs , drives ok ,day or night? all other electrical things on the car ,as in ALL do in fact work correctly? or just the RADIO on the car fails. many cars now the RADIO is part of the CAN , the car Area Network. and if that fails so does the RADIO. if is in fact a factory RADIO there from MB. what to do. well check all fuses first. never skip the easy first step and a 50cent cure.. next scan the USA? OBD2 scan port, and look for Radio errors like COMM failures codes. can I assume this RADIO is not SDAR , satelite radio if is did you path the subscription bills? $$$$$$ or the RD is base Radio and both are in fact CAN bus controlled so yes, it must be scanned first, after fuses sorry this is no simple 80s radio, not at all and is antitheft protected too. i request this post be moved to cars and not computers. here is more than 1 fuse, the RD shows 2, F1 and F2 my online docs, are not so good, on all MB. get the car scanned in any shop. see the DTC error codes. next.

Immobilizers are designed to prevent what you are needing done. There is no easy way around it. Your best bet is to call a lock smith to cut you a new key and program it to work with your vehicle.

Probably a damaged coupling or badly worn pipe. If not too late, replace the lines and refill the transmission with Mercedes Transmission Oil.
