I need instructions for replacing the seat belts in my Honda Element Ex 2008 both front and back ones They've all been chewed by a lunatic dog that I own!

There is a replacement guarantee in place wherein Honda states that they will repair or replace your stock Honda seat belts for the "usable life" of the vehicle. The "usable life" portion of the agreement establishes some requirements that have to be met and are listed here: 1. Vehicle has a current registration & insurance (Under Federal, State, Local Laws) 2. Legally titled within the USA or Canada (Honda North America) 3. Never been totaled by insurance or Federal/State/Local standards 4. Never had an airbag deployment / isn't throwing a code for the SRS system This warranty is separate from all other factory warranties for the car. So, you car does not have to be under it's 3/36,000 or other factory equivalent. It is warrantied directly through Honda and not a third party company. Any Honda dealership within North America is required to replace or repair the belts free of charge. There should be no charge to you for inspection or replacement costs. I have read reports about some dealerships attempting to charge a fee for the "diagnostic" process to determine if the seat belt is indeed malfunctioning. However under this warranty Honda does not allow the dealership to do this. So, you just have to stick to your guns and the dealership will not end up charging you anything. They don't cover seat belts which have been: 1. Cut, Shredded, Frayed by long term physical contact with sharp objects such as knives or belt buckles 2. Altered beyond factory specification 3. Altered from factory locations 4. Frayed by rubbing against interior trim pieces 5. Damaged by altered interior panels 6. Impeded upon by non-factory interior installations They will cover the seat belt replacement even if you have taken your inside trim apart so long as you haven't modified the seat belt or the trim surrounding the seat belt. There is no reason that this request for repair cannot be 100% successful. The warranty is very simple and clearly stated. The key...meet the requirements.

2003 HONDA ELEMENT DIES WHILE DRIVING

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Maybe the thieves or the repair shop damaged/loosened something. I would start the car and start wiggling/moving wires and connections to try to narrow down where the problem is. Start at the alternator connections, both at the alternator and where the thick wire connects, probably at the power distribution box but it may go straight to the battery; don't recall on that car. WHAT IS A VTEC SOLENOID

0f8a627.jpg
the solenoid is on the left side of the valve cover when looking straight on (top of engine)

When driving the vehicle with the rpm high enough for VTEC operation, the engine control module (ECM) operates the variable valve timing solenoid to open the solenoid and allow oil pressure to be applied to the pistons in the intake rocker arms. This action causes the outer rocker arms to be pinned to the middle rocker arm and now the three rocker arms operate as a unit, using the high-lift camshaft lobe for improved high-end power. When the engine rpm drops below VTEC operation, the VTEC solenoid is not energized and hydraulic oil pressure is turned off. This allows the return spring to return the pistons to their rest position and lets the rocker arms operate independently again. The VTEC transition between low and high rpm is smooth and normally not felt by the driver.
When the ECM energizes the VTEC solenoid valve to turn on the VTEC system, the ECM expects the VTEC oil pressure switch to open and see the voltage on the circuit. If there is a delay with oil pressure opening the switch, the ECM will set a trouble code and may limit fuel delivery, causing a driveability problem.
Reasons for no VTEC operation include low engine oil level, VTEC solenoid not opening or the screen behind it is restricted, an engine that has low oil pressure, or an oil pressure leak to the rocker arm assembly. In some cases, when engine work is performed, a missing or damaged O-ring can cause incorrect oil pressure to the VTEC system.

When diagnosing a trouble code P1259, always look at freeze-frame data. This data will tell you if the code is set at high or low engine rpm. If the code is set below 4,000 to 6,000 rpm (depending on the engine), check the oil pressure switch circuit for a faulty switch/connection or poor ground. When the code sets during VTEC operation, check for an oil pressure or mechanical problem with the VTEC system.

Replaced ignition on honda element and now the anti theft wont let me start my car

you can't, this is manufacturer installed antitheft so you can't just replace an ignition on a stolen vehicle. When you take it to Honda they will run the VIN and if it is not stolen they will fix it for you.
