I just replaced the intake and right head gasket on a 98 expedition 4x4 5.4l and now the vehicle has a miss when driving with light acceleration betweeen 35-55mph. this is a dead miss but you can't duplicate the miss unless you are driving, Idle is perfect, temp is good, replaced the thermostat and we did have a "po118" code for a bad ECT so that was replaced also and even after reseting the codes the check engine light will still come back on and it will be the same code?? Have driven vehicle for 40+ miles on mainly highway, runs almost without any miss until you slow down below 50 and try to give light throttle then you hear a dead miss, alomost sounds like a slight pop in the throttle body but as soon as you give it medium to 3/4 throttle the miss goes away and runs normal???? Bad or clogged injector??? plugs are only 10k old, replaced last year and 4 of the coil packs were replaced, checked all of the connections and vacuum lines but nothing changes. THe vehicle still runs great when cold and as it warms up the miss comes around which seems like the coolant temp switch is bad "ECT" but ohm readings are well within range???? Had an ex ford tech tell me that with a bad ect that the computer will get confused and throw the wrong values for timing and fuel thinking that the engine is at a different temp??? CAn anyone help with this?? thanx in advance, Michael
