If you have changed your thermostat then i would check and see if your hoses are not pinched also see if your radiator is plugged so it does not flow properly. Is there a water pump that needs replacing. I am not sure what all is involved but a few things to look at.

The front break usually over rides the starter sensors. Squeeze it and try starting . You can try rocking the machine forward and backward while trying to get it into neutral.

Hi. I'm not sure what you have for tools. A multimeter and a test light are a good start. Start by checking the spark plug. If you can't test it, get a new one. Use a test light and probe the (+) terminal on the coil (Is There Power with the key on?). If not, check the fuse and related wiring and stator. (The seat and fuel tank may both need to be removed). Now probe the (-) side of the coil. With the test light clamped to battery (+) terminal. Crank the engine over and see if the test light is flashing. If not, check the pickup coil. Is it spinning while the engine is cranking? It is possible that the ignitor is defective but your diagnostics will prevent you from throwing parts at your bike. Let me know how the repairs are going. Good Luck.

You have an inner cable and outer cable... they BOTH have to be specific lengths,(and they are not the same).. Did yours break?... get pinched?.. Its easier to purchase the original factory cable than try to make one! MANY MANY years ago you could buy all types of cable ends, inner wire, outer sheathing and make your own..now its not $$$ feasible to make your own,, and CHANCE having it break or an end fall off (the wrong end) and end up inside your engine!!..ooppsss.. You will have to get someone who works in a parts dept. to measure a NEW one..inner and outer.

Did you check the starter button. Look to see if it has power then check the wire going to the solenoid and see if it is sending power.

Had a mule which blew main fuse every time I put in reverse. Turned out the back up switch was shorted. If you can tell at what point the fuse is blowing, may help find the problem.

Make sure your rig is in neutral. Some types cut the plug power others cut all power. It does sound like a blown coil pack . If it was hard to start or ran rough when going this is an indicator but not always the case.
