Hey Brighette
Its time to check a few things.. First - remove the air filter and see if it runs ok then... if not... have the carburetor professionally cleaned and set... does it run ok now? .. have you installed a new spark plug? .. do that.. if it is still not running ok.. time to check the compression using a compression gauge that screws into the spark plug hole...

Innova Compression Tester

Your engine should pump at LEAST 120PSI. Once you have screwed the gauge in and lightly seated the o-ring.. turn the engine over for at least 5-8 seconds with the throttle WIDE OPEN... 120psi. minimum... if you are not getting very very close to this.... its time to find out why??... it might be that the valves are too tight... but find out why?... this is probably the reason it won't run..

93 polaris trailboss 350l 4x4 new piston and rings ....no suction at carb

This is not enough info to start. ..Hold the palm of your hand over the back of the carb and make sure its sealed against it... You need a helper to do this properly. The engine should pull on your hand inwards... if not....??
Did a shop or factory trained mechanic do the work? Are the reed valves able to open and stay closed? What does the compression gauge read? If you don't have one, beg borrow, buy, and/or take it to a shop and pay them to check it. Check it with the throttle wide open... with new piston and rings it should pump over 120+psi. ..easily.
Have the compression checked and then repost with the results.
Thanks!

Why doesn't it restart?

Hey Heather,,,

Sounds like the throttle position sensor is bad. It won't let the engine start while it is "sensing" wide open throttle. This is something for the repair shop... 70 miles.. Warranty???

Why does my ATV bog down and die when I keep the throttle wide open?

If you are lucky, you might just need new fuel filter and the fuel bowl cleaned out, and maybe new air filter. If not so lucky you need carburetor rebuilt. Backfire is usaully caused by engine running too lean ( too much air for the amount of fuel present). Fuel bowls get gunk in them and the fuel needles and fuel jets get varnished up. The accelerator pump gets worn out gaskets and/or bellows and doesn't give the right amount of fuel mist when you accelerate.

Full Choke is indicative of a motor starved for fuel

Kawasaki Mule 1999 Model

Hello Anon..
First, I would check to make sure the carbs are getting fuel, and then fuel getting into the cylinders. Your question about low oil - did you let it get low and then it quit? ...
If you put oil into the cylinders and only got 100psi, this might be your problem. You should be pumping around 120+psi without putting anything into the cylinders... Recheck the compression.= .take out all spark plugs...screw the gauge in until the o-ring seats, hold the throttle wide open while spinning the engine over for about 5 seconds... you should get 120psi +/- 10psi.
If you are getting less than 100psi.. it might be time for a rebuild..
