Question about Polaris ATV
My first suggestion would be to drain the gearcase oil. on the bottom of the gearcase behind the engine there is a drain plug. remove the drain plug, and drain the fluid into a clean drain pan. look for metal, or a metalliac sheer on the top of the oil. you can see it easier in the sunlight on the top of the oil. if you see metal or chunks of gear come out then you know there is a problem in the transmission. most likely, you have a bent shift fork or damaged gears. a bent shift fork typically has a symptom of not shifting or being hard to shift, and the gear wont engage. you also might have a broken transmission gear or stripped splines on a transmission gear, shich would allow the transmission to shift, but not acually move the atv anywhere.
