Your needle valve is not closing. It sounds like the float needs to be adjusted so that it shuts off the gas. It is stalling out because it is being flooded.

1997 425 magnum 4x2 new carb, coil, plug, wont rev past halve throttle then sputters no power

Fuel starvation (supply or wrong carb or tune) and/or insufficient or poor quality spark.

Make sure the air filter is clean and only test with it connected as it sometimes makes a lot of difference. It could be worth checking the exhaust for blockages.

Where is fuel filter? located

Polaris fuel filters are usually in the fuel line coming from the valve that turns fuel off. This model does not seem to have an inline filter, however you can always buy a universal one and splice it into the line so that then it does have one

Have a 88 polaris trail boss. dosnt have any hoses hooked up to carb. cant find anything telling me how hoses are supposed to be ran. any help

There is usually only one hose connected to the carb... it goes from the fuel tank-=fuel filter to the carb at the top. The hose is s similar diameter used in lawnmowers and sold by the foot. There is a cable from the throttle which is tricky to get on sometimes as there is a spring on it. If you've never owned a motorcycle of removed throttle cables before, get with someone who has. The needle valve is visible protruding from the bottom of the throttle cable. There is a keeper clip on it and it sets on a particular groove on the needle valve.

What is the carb factory setting on the finger screw

Finger screw, (Idle Screw).. if the carb is CLEAN, new spark plug, valves properly adjusted, etc.. its only function is idle speed and it is what you are comfortable with!

Carb drain leaks?

This is caused by a bad needle and seat in the carb you can buy a carb kit and replace the needle and seat and it will stop leaking
make sure not to bend the float

I have a 2004 Polaris Magnum 330cc 4x4. It will only start up if i rock it side to side, but when i stop shaking the four wheeler it dies

You need to inspect all gas lines for obstructions including the gas tank , and especially the carb. I can bet dollars to doughnuts that it's a fuel problem something is blocking the fuel and by rocking it it's allowing the fuel to go through. hope this helps , let me know how you make out .
