The rear hub, where the rear axle goes thru, is an eccentric adjuster. You have to loosen up the pinchbolts and rotate it to adjust the chain. You might also have to loosen up the bracket for the brake. Usually when you have to cut out links it is because the chain is worn out and needs to be replaced.

If the screw(s) on the carb make no difference... the throttle cable may need to have slack added... IF there is an adjustment at the handlebar... start there and give it slack -- The throttle should be able to move without revving the engine.... if there is not slack or play... adjust the cable until there is.- the next adjustment is at the top of the carb, where the cable goes in -- ....If this does not help, you may have pinched the throttle cable, or have an air leak or the intake valves are too tight-(usually manifest in a "slow to idle" - "run away idle" situation) .....

What makes clutch not release on 500 Polaris sportsman

Check the alignment of your clutch and the rear pulley. If they are not aligned the bike will seem like always moving forward. They may require spacers to align correctly.

How do you do the drive chain adjustment on my 2005 Polaris 900 rmk 159 track

To adjust chain tension in the chaincase, loosen the jam nut on the chaincase with a 9/16" wrench a few turns. Then turn the adjustment ***** in with your fingers until it can't be turned by hand anymore. Once that point is reached back the ***** out 1/4 turn and tighten the jam nut. Best of luck, Daniel

Hey Randy,
Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced. Take the battery to O'Reilly, Autozone, Advance Auto and have the CCA, (Cold Cranking Amps) checked..(load test).. this will tell you whether the battery is good or not. When you get a new battery.. make sure the connections are clean and tight..put a little heavy grease on the connections to prevent corrosion. This should fix your problem.
